Anybody play rl card games?

I miss the nerd culture of y2k, so I got back to MtG through MtG Arena, and the art is just so tasteful, unlike in Hearthstone. That said, it’s not the best app since the card game wasn’t designed with digital in mind.

Anyway, to fuel my thirst for more nerddom I’m thinking of playing real life card games instead of these CoD bro fake esports casino sh**. I really like how Cardfight Vanguard looks, though I hear the commmunity is toxic. I’m a girl, so I don’t want to be harassed. Pokémon TCG and Flesh and Blood also look promising. Anyone here play other, real world card games? Which, if any, do you recommend?

If I ever start playing card games in real life, it’ll be time for an intervention to get my life back on track.

So I got into MTG Arena back in 2019 when it was about to officially roll out. That was also the first time I ever played MTG and I ended enjoyin it. So much so I ended up collecting and buying singles, so I have a dedicated friend group where we do drafts or commander and it is alot of fun!

If GWENT had an actual card game, and I think theres an actual GWENT set you can buy off Etsy I would play that too.

Been a hot minute but yeah, Pokemon, MTG, YGO, DBZ (the one from the early 2000s). Had cards for the old school Warcraft one n Digimon one, but didn’t know anybody that played those, so my decks just kinda collected dust.

magic is terrible lol

I’m not even trying magic because I want to have money to eat.

IRL I play only real card games, such as poker, rummy and the rest are local games which rarely anyone knows who’s not from my or neighbouring country

Which is too bad because I consider one of those games to be the best ever made

I play MtG and Star Wars Unlimited, which is the new hotness. I’ve fallen out a fair bit with magic, and haven’t done much except with prereleases on occasion. Unlimited, however, is a ton of fun and a game I would definitely recommend. The action system encourages quite a bit of strategic thinking and interaction, and functions very differently from any other game I’ve played.
