Well, apparently the last few times they did this worked so well that they came to the conclusion that it’s worth doing it again and thus is not dumb.
You know what was “dumb”? In a sense that it wasn’t profitable enough to continue it. To make new hero skins and sell them for only 10-15$ each. If it was I bet every class would’ve like 3-4 skins purchasable from the store by now.
Nope. It isn’t. Not even close. Because I would imagine that you also need/want those card packs for the new cards. You know, cards that you play in the game? And, practically, a legendary card of your own choosing. Another thing I assume you would want. The card back is like whatever unless you personally really like it. But it’s a nice bonus.
Yes, because satiric comparison makes your point, oh look SO much better!
Now, if you’re really so poor that you can’t afford the bundle, you have my sympathies. I would also like it if people, like you, had that the option to buy only the portrait for a cheaper price. But don’t think that you’re entitled to it for a lower prize.
Dude, adding a new hero cost so much money to do. Holy, adding it to the shop to sell for $10 a pop can’t be ever profitable. NO WAY, a digital hero for $10 sounds like too good to be true.
But I don’t. I don’t ever play ladder, I literary won’t have any uses for the new cards. I am an arena player, the 80 packs would just be the same as the useless car.
I don’t want the cards because I have no uses for them. Why am I forced to buy a product I literary am not going to use?
Oh okay. Well, what can I say to that? Sounds like your problem.
Not wanting to acquire cards in a collectible card game sounds like a personal thing to me.
Besides, I thought you play a crapton of Control Warrior, which is why you always give your insights on it and its relationship to the meta?
One good thing is the new Druid portrait looks ugly as hell. Still, I can’t understand people who spend $80 for a 32x32 group of pixels.
I play a decent amount of control warrior because trying to save up gold for heist.
I had dust from years of arena and warrior is my favorite class on ladder.
However, I rarely ever play ladder, I have been playing a lot more this past month , but currently I am done with it and am moving back to arena.
You should see the amount of people who spend FAR more than that on poisonous recreational products. At least pixels aren’t a direct physical health hazard.
A business doesn’t stop something that was hugely profitable. It isn’t like we went from $10 to bundle quickly. It is fairly obvious that portraits alone don’t bring the IRR (internal rate of return) that was needed to justify the artist, programmers, and voice time. The movements over time on the portraits kind of shows that the portraits by themselves were not worth the cost + return needs but bundling them with cards is increasing upsell and/or sales in genetaly - same for free legend guarantees
oh people spend money on games to have fun all the time…what i dont understand is people who spend way more than that a year on beer or cigarettes
But HS’s toxicity does cause more mental damage than any drug ever could
The same could be said about social media, yet people spend even more time on that than the games.
You know, I hate to interrupt Yet Another Argument About Cosmetics in $80 Bundles, but…
Based on the promotional video, I think this is how the classes will shake-out:
-Elyse: Druid (we knew this one already).
-Brann: Hunter (I mean, it kinda fits, plus he has a big gun and some sort of raptor pet with him)
-Finley: Paladin (mostly because of the big shiny golden fish he’s using to beat monsters up with… shiny and golden is kinda the Paladin’s color scheme)
-Reno: Mage (weakest guess, but the crystal gun seems mage-y).
That seems the most likely way for it to shake out.
Right… as long as you ignore all the real life effects online gambling games like hearthstone have on people that suffer from addiction. Sure thing bob.
No one is forcing you to do anything. Whether or not you buy the mega bundle is totally up to you.
Try to see it from this perspective: you’re a paying customer who spends money on this game, the skin is an added value for those willing to spend the cash. As someone who spends money on this game from time to time, I have to say that I do appreciate getting these exclusive skins as extras. Just my .02
I’m just sad it is a druid skin. Lunara wasn’t that long ago. We need a warrior or a hunter one.
I don’t mind, some nice ‘fan art’ for a druid lover main like me to have now, it’s pretty good
infact the ‘starseeker’ it a key give away.

the more you know now.
Yeah pretty much this. These bundles are way too big imo the 1st 20-40 packs yield good returns after that it’s pretty much just all duplicates and you need to craft most of everything else.
Once you get all commons and most or all rares opening new packs in that set is very underwhelming.
