I felt that it was necessary to ask myself this question. Why? Well, it has NOTHING to do with getting a high percentage of likes, or seeking attention on any/all my posts. It has to do with becoming more acquainted with the forum, and how I interact with the many personalities that gather here to discuss, learn, chat, and yes even troll.
What led me to consider if I may seem to be this type of ghastly forum worm? Looking over all of my previous posts so I can can learn how my own virtual persona is taking shape; not popular, but tolerable, not insecure but mindful, not false but also not brutally vomiting truths either. Why am I posting this topic even though I began with inferring that I’m not seeking attention? We all wear masks of some sort or another… even online. I’m still learning about how I am to present mine.
Honestly… I have always been quite introverted, and when in a forum I have not spent anymore time than what was needed to ask a question or two, and as in life, so to am I online. (As a Side note: I’m really not fond of Facebook) Therefore, I am learning how to socialize in a forum setting. I initially thought that inserting posts, in a jokingly absurd manner, into a few topics here or there with no thought of how I was interrupting the context to which the topic was originally created for. I suppose I was being a tad attention seeking I’ll admit.
This has been my own observation, no one in the forums that has responded to any of my posts has led me to feel that I should create this topic.
My “Id” can be slightly quirky at times.
I refuse to be a “tool”, or to be the mucus that is irritatingly collecting in the back of my throat when having had to much coffee, and to many cigarettes.
As for now, I haven’t developed any warts yet…
(The sun hasn’t yet set over the horizon; I intend to mold this mask into an image of how I perceive myself to be, and by inspecting my reflection in the brook behind me.)
I have never seen you as a troll, if that helps.

You need indeed to cultivate a persona.
Mallenroh: the ranting rp Mage
Reaver: the irrational optimist
Noc: the eternal troll
Peverin: the producer of sarcastic one-liners
Ebsnike: the argumentative prick (I don’t mind him, personally)
Truism: the ???
Manilla: / (not enough posts, I did not even know you existed before reading this thread)

there’s probably around +/- 20ish people who post here all the time. apparently everyone in high legend posts here. every single one. then there’s us in the pleb leagues that get crapped on by those “legendary” posters for playing for fun. i am on other forums for a variety of different things. not one of them is nearly as toxic as this forum. one of them i’m on isn’t even moderated at all and it’s still not as bad as here.
i’m sure a lot of those “legend” players think i’m a troll. but me? i prefer “the fact checker.”
if i made my own list about the people i interact with regularly i’d eat a ban though. lol

Actually more than 20+, and most are not hl. For example, Wardrum isn’t (I think); we have many more regulars here. It’s just that some people are more active in the HS-is-rigged threads, some are more active in the I-hate-Blizz threads and others more active in balance and competitive threads. (in the latter you meet more legend players)
Beware, it is indeed easy to earn bans here^^
what did you do to make my post a “solution.” i’ve not had that happen to a post of mine before. XD
Ah yes, ofc, I don’t mean that you have to act, just with time people will recognize your quirks;)
i don’t really care about being suspended. i have been so many times on the wow forums. though instead of it going up each time i usually get about a day ban in general. lol. the last one i got was for 6 hours. most of my posts are pro blizz though so the only time i actually get hit with something is when i cross a line. even when i get flagged my posts are usually reinstated by the mods. lol
Erm, this guilty prisoner, called Truism, like Wardrum and many others, has already gotten a one month ban and was threatened to be perma banned.
Mods tend to overlook the context, so I tend to be careful with what i say these days.
with this forum there’s only a couple of people that i actually like at all and there’s no investment to it. if i get perma banned here i’ll just go back to the wow forums. hearthstone is fun but the community here is not anything i’ll regret having access to if i can’t anymore. with the wow forums there’s more of an actual community and high end players spend a lot of time trying to help others succeed. the ones who get super rude or elitist get flagged down and eat vacations. there’s more casuals on the wow forums which keep that in check. in a place like this i’m more likely to be flagged because i ask for credentials and don’t just believe someone just because they say something. i’ve already annoyed several people with it already. lol
But you wrote 200 posts in 2 days or so?
Btw, just ignore the people you don’t like.
I can understand why many people like Shakou are pissed though (and thus too aggressive with new players?), since very often we have new people opening the same threads, and we have to explain to them that many cards are balance wise (not speaking about fun) fine, like tickatus.
Well, what should people do? Show their screenshots? (One would appear as a prick if one did; it would seem as boasting)
posting doesn’t mean taking something seriously. i like to debate. also with hearthstone you have turn based gameplay and people continuously rope. instead of sitting there doing nothing i read the forums and post on it. that’s what i do instead of getting annoyed with it and then whining about it. i’ve had matches last for extremely ridiculous amounts of time because of it. but i don’t complain about it because i’ll win eventually and since i’m not working on rank i can just do forum stuff while i wait. it helps me, as a newer inexperienced player, finish my weekly win 5 ranked matches quest.
i called shakou out specifically about wow because he kept talking about how great he was at it. i can check his armory so i asked him for it. all he had to do was link it. he turns everything into a peeing contest though so it’s really pointless trying to talk to him. his response to everything is “you can’t have an opinion because i’m better than you.” he also tries to call people out for not wanting to get better but is also the first one to tell you you’re trash for not completely understanding everything about the game as a new player and doesn’t try to help at all. once he remembered the armory existed he went from “i am a god amongst men” to “i’m an average player, but better than you.” he also talks about winning and losing in irrational ways. i have enough things in my rl that i am proud of. ranking in a video game isn’t even a blip on my radar as far as my accomplishments go. and those things are related to personal goals or my wife, even. things that i am proud of. not pixels. lol

i’m sorry to hear that. i know how that goes. my wife and i both have the issue with booze ourselves. i try my best to not actively drink anymore though. only a drink here or there on special occasions. she is a long time hearthstone player though and is the one who got me into it. i’ve been trying to learn the game lately (obviously lol) and i talk to her about the things on the forums and how a lot of the people seem to not know as much as she does about the game but are much higher ranked than she is. so she decided to give it a push and she hit gold 5 for the first time last night! it was super exciting. she’s a casual with hearthstone as well. she’s more hardcore in wow though. like she has tons of stuff i could never hope to achieve. lol
