We will not really know until folks actually build decks to climb ladder. I am running a burgle style rogue that is missing cards which can do some explosive turns but in a quest meta or something similar is just dead to efficiency. I saw an extreme hand buff pally that was sick just building on what was already working.
I’m liking the new freeze cards in this expansion for shaman. A 3/4 elemental with freeze (Wildpaw Cavern) is really strong on controlling the board.
Didn’t change much for me. Constructed still feels unfun for largely the same reasons as before the expansion. I’m probably back to mercenaries and battlegrounds.
They gave Shaman, Warrior, and Paladin everything. They took a big dump on Mage.
That’s what I see so far.
Usually I am really happy to play these first few days of expansion though after being matched over and over against exactly the same warlock deck, I just pass and let HS to rot somewhere in the corner of my desktop, waiting for some occassional BGs.
I havent thought it would be possible I could be more disappointed after that sh*tshow introduced in last expanion but it seems devs are really great in the job to make this game more and more dull.
aggro demon hunter some tarded burst
So far played against pally with the unstoppable object and a freeze shaman. Both matchups made me wanna uninstall the game. Horrible experience.
Yeah Shaman Pally Warrior are gonna be high tier for sure.
idk about anything else yet.
Demon hunter hero + illinari + hero power costs one less minion. 32 hero power attack. Yeah I’m not playing this game anymore. 2 card OTK combo with easy setup very fun yes.
Nothing new there, of course.
Pure Big Spell Mage is a bit clunky, but may also serve to counter some more powerful decks. I want to experiment with a Tempo build.
OwlTK Warlock is super duper fun and cool.
Still wanna play some Paladin and Shaman.
Don’t bother with mage if your intention is to ladder.
I’m trying a meme combo in wild. Grave Defiler, Fist of Jaraxxus, Cataclysm combo. It’s enjoyable fisting people in the face.
That’s what you’ve seen since the game released, though. Or close to it. ![]()
Super fun decks i am having tons of fun with burglar rogue.
There are some cards that look strong but i think this time there wil be early changes.
I for one suspect tempo mage will be the best mage deck.
I had fun for the first 30 minutes maybe? Then started running into constant combo decks again. Demon Hunter hitting me in the face for a million damage with their hero card power. Hunter quest applying to Tavish hero card (why the hell is this a thing???) leading to an OTK by summoning a board of Huffers and Leokks for 0 mana.
I don’t even know why I hold out hope at this point. I just want Control Priest to be playable but it’s way too slow and hopelessly weak. Why am I spending 8 mana to play one 8/8 minion that gets immediately removed, yet seemingly every other class can pay a fraction of that for a bunch of insane effects?
EDIT: It’s a shame because the new Xyrella hero card is so fun and satisfying to use. It’s just, again, way too slow. I feel like the only way I can ever keep up with other decks whilst playing Deathrattle Priest is to slot in Vanndar and pray I can draw him early.
Miracle Priest feels super strong.
Probably going to main it this expansion.
Many seemingly good cards, Lots of way to fight. AKA, seems good. but every early meta also seems good, amiright?
Working on my tempo mage list. BSM seem hella clunky and Rune of the archamage seems as bad as the streams made it seem. Who wants to draw 8 and play a secret for 9 mana? It’s pretty good at burning your own deck. Varden is so slow i have not seen it played optimally once.
Also, my dreams of a deck with the 3 varden cards have been shattered.
As I mentioned, I’ve actually been doing well with ping-mage so far. As of right now, I have about an 80% win-rate with it in Diamond, with only Pirate-Warrior beating me so far. Admittedly it’s probably largely cause it’s the first day of the new ex-pac and no one has figured out the optimal decks yet. I do not think this will be a tier-one deck, but I do think it will be playable winnable at Diamond.
