All the demonstrated decks were dead boring mid-range

Typical midrange consist of well statted minions and good tempo/removal. I don’t see that in the new cards, most of them require synergy with other cards to get the tempo/value/benefit.

I think it’s going to be a slow, grindy value meta with maybe 1 or 2 aggro decks fast enough to mow them down.

It’s a simple discussion, not an argument. They do not design new cards for Standard (especially a reduced-in-power Standard) with the power curve of Wild in mind. I’m curious as to why you think they should, when the two are completely different modes that accomplish quite different things.
