All new priest cards revealed today (8 total)

So since the other threads are a bit scattered and half the cards revealed today were missing I decided to compile a cumulative list of all the priest cards into one place.

Imprisoned Homunculus - 1 mana 2/5. Taunt, Demon, Dormant for 2 turns

Dragonmaw Sentinel - 2 mana 1/4, If you’re holding a dragon gain +1 attack and Lifesteal

Apoetheosis – 3 mana spell - Give a minion +2/+3 and Lifesteal

Renew – 1 mana spell – Restore 3 Health, Discover a spell

Reliquary of Souls – 1 mana 1/3, Lifesteal. Deathrattle, Shuffle Reliquary Prime into your deck

Reliquary Prime – 7 mana 6/8, Taunt, Lifesteal, Only you can target this minion with spells and hero powers

Psyche Split – 5 mana spell – Give a minion +1/+2 and summon an exact copy

Soul Mirror - 7 mana Legendary spell – Summon copies of enemies. They attack their copies.

Skeletal Dragon – 7 mana 4/9 Taunt, Dragon. At the end of your turn add a dragon to your hand

Not sure about this midrangey build they have planned for priest. They took away all of our card draw and we still have no win condition for the deck.

More dragons makes me happy.

There’s also a 5 mana spell that gives a minion +1/+2 and summons an exact copy. I missed the name though.

Psyche Split was the name of it.

Thanks, added to the main list

When I saw Ayala’s smug look on his face when Kripp got absolutely destroyed by the Hunter in the Priest showcase, it felt so insulting.

The cards that Priest got were all uninspiring and useless.

EVERY class deserves some card draw. It’s a card game, and you can’t do anything without it. Priest got none.

EVERY midrange deck needs 2 things: board swing tools, and a win con (finisher spell, savage roar type ability, big attack buff, residual damage, etc.). Priest got none.

EVERY control deck needs a late game finisher. Priest got none.

Resurrect Priest is the only deck that has any glimmer of hope, but when you think about it…Priest got an inferior version of Druid’s Winged Guardian…as a legendary card.

It’s just beyond insulting.

Throw in Reliquary prime and that’s the whole lot of em. Thanks

Also this. Kripp got demolished by that hunter deck. Big shocker. He was playing a midrange deck with no card draw and no proper hand reload. What the hell do you expect to happen. That’s why I severely question the archetypes viability. It has no draw and no finisher. Midrange decks require both.

Loving the priest cards this set.

The Prime card can be a deck all on its own. Multiple ways to trigger that Deathrattle over and over.

Well pretty much as predicted, Team 5 are trying to make us play some sort of slow grindathon heavy mid-range deck , and as others have pointed out have neglected to give us any card draw or a wincon.

I’m pretty much certain Priest is going to be unplayably bad for at least a couple of expansions until they figure out that we actually need a way to win a game.

What annoys me is that they can give Demon Hunter powerful cards, but not Priest, what’s so difficult to design around now they’ve taken all the problem cards away?

If they’d at least have left us Northshire Cleric !( Not that i think that would make the heavy mid-range build good, but it would be better).

He ho! Not surprised but pretty annoyed.

I presume this comment is just to get a rise out of Priest players (fair enough!), but if you do really like the new Priest cards I’d love to hear why?

I think buffs should play a bigger role for priests and we got a couple of decent ones. A 1 mana heal discover spell is nice don’t know how you could think otherwise, and the prime is awesome. I’d love to hear what you DON’T like about them. Also the new dragon is great. Genuinely not seeing an issue here.

Control Warrior got along for a long time without a proper finisher, they didn’t draw cards and won through attrition and fatigue.

Obviously Priest didn’t get draw, but it did get buckets of generation, will it be good enough? time will tell.

The win con is grind.

I don’t think it will be that bad, but at the same time I’m not seeing a bonkers setup like say Drakonid Operative & Netherspite Historian to really carry the deck.

Priest does have early game minions and some improved control tools, which they haven’t had in a long time.

I think that trying to win the board with buffs is a strategy that has never worked , it’s way too easy to get 2 or 3 for 1’d by stuff like Sap, you can’t compete vs decks that can generate tempo out of the wazoo like Gala Rogue or Warrior by plopping big butted non-proactive cards on the board and hoping you’ll trade to victory, because when other (viable!) decks hit their big tempo turns we have no answer, and by the time you get back on the board you’re dead.

Coupled with our complete lack of card draw and the deck plays in a very linear, and therefore easily counterable way.

Opponents know we have no reach, and indeed no real way to capitalise on a big board (no DS/IF, no Bloodlust/Savage Roar) so it’s very easy to contain any threat we might pose and then just out tempo us for a couple of turns and it’s over.

I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts Priest will be tier 4 after rotation.

Meh we’ll agree to disagree. But I am of a different mind set. I am not terribly concerned about competing. If I like the cards and themes I will play it regardless of how meta it is. But even from a meta perspective I don’t see these as weak cards. Guess we’ll wait and see.

Hey, if Priest flops this expansion, Reliquary of Souls is gonna be seen a lot in shaman with the legendary weapon. It is the new only 1 drop legendary in Standard. And a huge improvement from Chameleos.

That’s awesome.
with the Pirate that re-equips the weapon and the Dragon that adds Two 1 mana Spells. Know what deck I’m trying out first

Honestly a lot of folks are going to hate these cards because they aren’t “Priesty” enough, nor are they draw or an explicit win condition.

But they are pretty good, maybe there might not be the 1 high impact card some sets have had, at the same time there isn’t a whole lot of crap that only works unless you are doing something super specific.

a 2/5 taunt that can be played turn 1 that you can buff when it hits the board on 3? looks good to me.

a 2/4 with Lifesteal on 2? again seems legit.

a 3 manna buff spell that can hit the 1st two cards right on curve.

Renew is pretty reasonable minor heal + discovery of a spell.

Reliquary is good, and with Zilliax rotating out, taunting lifesteal minions is good.

The 7 manna minions are slightly awkward in that they can’t get grave rune’d right away, but there is fate weaver so idk.

Psyche Split / Soul Mirror i want to see these cards in action first.

Skeletal Dragon, I wish it had more stats, Emerald Explorer seems better in every way unless you can keep skeletal alive for more than 1 turn.

I think I’d rather run the 2 mana 3/5 with Rush, Imprisoned Vilefiend. They attack on the same turn, I get to pick the first trade, that sort of thing.
