Aggro Warrior (Looking for Feedback)

This is a deck I designed this morning. I am in D5 and am finding it’s actually competitive. I’m looking for help to refine it as much as possible and so here it is;

Edit: Injured Blastermasters replaced for Guardian Augmerchants.

I can think of a few cards that can be added.
bloodsail deckhand, fogsail freebooter, stormwind freebooter, bloodsail raider and even nitroboost poison and/or cutting class.
maybe cut slams and minefields and try to keep board presence instead.

I’ll give those suggestions a go and report back. Thank you kindly, @Harry. I really feel like I’m onto something here because at the moment, this deck can actually win. If I can manage to refine it and pilot it correctly, I believe it can become competitive.

My only feedback is:

  1. edit your post
  2. select the whole text of your deck
  3. press ctrl + i (if you are on PC)
Or press the capital I in the box that opens when you write something
It will look like this

I actually have some feedbacks about your deck, but note that I am not an aggro player; on the other hand, when an aggro deck plays certain cards that you have, I am happy because I will have an easier time, so they are probably bad.
I am talking about:

  1. minefield: if it’s useful, then your aggro plan failed
  2. slam: if an aggro deck plays removals, is to destroy taunts, not to draw cards and leave a minion alive
  3. Guardian Augmerchants: I am not sure you want this type of 1 drop in an aggro deck
  4. Athletic Studies: 1 mana to discover a card is bad; it’s better to just include the card you want. You don’t want to play a value game, so show immediately what you are trying to do
  5. War Cache: same as above
  6. Sword and Board: you don’t need armor; dealing 2 is most of the time irrelevant in an aggro deck: a minion is better

I would add these minions for sure; if you have the pirate quest, I would also include it
Even in an aggro deck it’s good: it draws 1 weapon, so you don’t lose the card advantage; then it gives you some fast random damage, always good in an aggro deck; and finally, a win condition when you are out of cards in your hand.

Shiver Their Timbers: if you really want to run removals, this is way better than sword and board, slam and minefield

I would make it like this:

(oh nice, the HS website only gives you the code and not the whole deck list! :man_facepalming: )

It’s basically a new deck (quest warrior), with some of your original choices; we have different minds, so don’t be offended if it is very different from your deck :joy:
I think my version is more aggro oriented than yours, even if it could be made faster and better for sure

I’m not offended; rather, I appreciate your feedback immensely! I’m not an aggro player so this is all new to me, really. I’ll drop removal. I’ll add the quest and see how it goes.

Netdeck and get to legend, ez.

there is a more control oriented quest pirate deck which runs extra removals. If you don’t enjoy pure aggro quest warrior, give that deck a try.

I think you need to ditch a lot of your removal spells and card generating spells if you’re trying to run an aggro warrior build. You should include warsong envoy and bloodsail deckhand as your 1 cost minions. You really can’t run a good aggro build that has no 1 cost board presence. I’d start there and ditch sword and board and war cache.

Edit: I forgot to get rid of the Athletic Studies. What should I put in its place?

If you’re building a lot around weapons with the Sword Eaters, Outrider’s Axes and Nitroboosts, you might consider some of the weapon synergy stuff like Doctor Krastinov or Steeldancers if you have them. Or Ganargs are another good source of weapons to use and combine with the nitroboosts and cutting classes.

Looks better and more consistent. There’s still some small improvements you can make, but see how that goes first.

That’s basically a Warrior quest deck.

Yup, minus the quest. But they’re trying to do their own thing. It does look like 20-25/30 cards of a pirate warrior minus the quest and Aug merchants tho. I have been messing around with the steeldancers, those are fun. And if you don’t tutor a weapon with quest the 1 mana 1/4 axe from barrens might be really solid as well as the 1 mana deal 5 with a pirate or 3 mana combo destroy a minion cards.
