Aggro auto wins too many games. Takes all skill out. Do the devs realize how stupid the meta can be?
Just play standard. there is no aggrop or any tempo. blizzzard has successfully killed all fast
Most of the best decks are not aggro.
Hound Hunter, Enrage Warrior, Relic DH, Outcast DH, Thaddius Druid, Big DH, Blood DK, Control Priest, Miracle Rogue are all tier 3 or higher from D4 to Legend.
Menagerie Warrior and Evolve Shaman aren’t aggro, they just start playing the game on turn 1.
The only aggro decks I can identify are Unholy DK, Frost DK, Undead Priest, and Totem Shaman. I’ll leave Pure Paladin to the side because it feels like an aggro deck, but often goes to turn 7+ with its fatter minions.
Aggro does take skill. Speed does not equal skill. Just because it wins fast doesn’t mean it doesn’t require thought, planning, etc.
And honestly, if you’re complaining about losing to aggro, it shows who really lacks skill here. Since aggro is “skill-less.”
Cool lets remove aggro so ALL games can become Combo and Control. Sounds like a good time to me, 80%+ Control priest FTW.
I like how aggro “auto wins.”
It’s code for,
“How dare they smash my face while I pass for five turns?!”
The damage from hand of some decks kinda renders any counter play that’s not heavily investing in stall tactics (healing/armor) kind of a problem. Makes the game really unfun if you wanna play anything that isn’t especially aggressive or is hard investing in discover/greed or some like early-mid game high roll.
I like aggro decks, but I like to know I have ways to beat them if I play smart with taunt or I play well for board/draw well, but it doesn’t feel like that right now. It feels to me like lately tempo + aggro decks are more or less kind of the same thing. Rather than tempo decks focusing on strong board states and good trades and aggro decks focusing on pure damage. Decks being able to do both is kind of frustrating, and it was increasingly common especially last year.
It’s not really… an engaging paradigm. And I don’t think giving other decks more broken tools to answer it is… a good solution.
nah totem shaman and pure paladin are busted, easy to play and should not exist.
Lool wod love to see your reaction to reality busted decks.
With practice, every deck is easy to play. Overcome the learning curve and it becomes easy peasy lemon squeezey.
Secondly, have you actually played those decks? Or do you just lose to them all the time and make that assumption because your fragile ego cannot take the fact that you can’t beat them?
Aggro always needs to be “overtuned” because it is preferable for it to be an Aggro meta than a Control meta.
The second would be too oppresive, while the first leaves room open for versatility.
There is a reason why “Aggro” decks are always the highest winrate decks and it isn’t because the devs just like Aggro more.
Preferable to you. There’s a lot of us who would prefer a control meta and consider aggro metas far more oppressive.
Simply not true. You don’t want a Control meta in Standard.
Implying there is a Control meta means the 3 best decks in the game would be Control. Something which is uncommon because guess what … it would be too oppresive.
It would also mean that there would be way too many overtuned Control cards like there are in Aggro decks now. There are people here that say that Control has overtuned cards now, even though the meta isn’t even Control centered.
Imagine how overtuned these already implied as “overtuned” cards would be and how oppressive life would be for Aggro and Midrange decks.
If the meta is Control there is no counter matchup other than stronger Control.
That is their current design answer to combat combo win decks and suffocating control decks. Players tend to forget Mr. Smite was their very early design choice to beat those decks and that was a colossal failure. There’s no interrupt phase in HS so basically it’s just massive face damage.
If you are complaining that Aggro automatically wins then that tells me that you are probably a silver player. It takes skill to play an Aggro deck correctly, otherwise you run out of stream very fast.
And if aggro auto wins, you wouldn’t be complaining about aggro decks, you’d be playing one and climbing the ranks rather than being salty about them.
nah they have way too much card draw/discovery/tempo… filling the board 4-5x in a row turn after turn
aggro is like playing checkers… nothing wrong with it, except when it is overtuned. takes skill out of the game
outside of agro, hound hunter is pretty busted.
other top decks are annoying, but not nearly as busted as agro and hound hunter
What rank do you play in?
You sound like the typical silver player that blames their lack of skill on everything but their skill.
diamond and I play rogue…
I’ve lost too many games where I get lucky draws and make insane trades… the tempo of aggro is better than rogue which is supposed to have good tempo
There are always going to be times when you run a deck and you will get perfect card draw, however, most of the time that is not the case.
Rogue has taken a back seat in the current meta, however, with that being said, Rogue has been tier one plenty of times. Other classes need their time to shine, and if you stick with one class, there are going to be times when it will just be harder based on what the current state of the meta is.
hopefully titan brings back totem shaman, pure paladin and hound hunter into orbit… I think a good balance update would be setting health to 35 without prince for starters.
