I’m usually not someone who cares about achievements since most are worthless, but the HS ones from the newest expansion at the time that give XP toward reward track gold I do like going for.
The biggest issue for me with obtaining them is the fact that you have play ranked to gain progress (or other modes where winning is important) and many of the tasks don’t lend themselves well to winning decks, especially if you’re trying to do multiple at a time.
I think Casual HS should reward progress toward these achievements. In fact, imo, it’s the best fit for it, since there you can try out all kinds of weird decks and not be so concerned with winning.
Getting some of these can be very hard, some requiring the deck to be built around getting the required scenario to happen, more so than building it to win vs the opponent.
Plus, I find a lot of them fun to try to get to work, but often I don’t go for them because I’m too far along on the ladder to lose a bunch of games trying to, say, have six damaged minions in play while damaged myself so that I can play a new minion then give him +8/+8.
Right now, casual duals is the only place I really try for these, but that kind of ruins duels decks too.
Casual is really the only place I can see where going for these would be enjoyable with no drawbacks.
If anyone is listening, thanks for hearing me out.
Have a great day!
No.
You can vs your friends in casual mode, making the achieves trivial.
I like to do them in dumpster wild, where I have basically no mmr so they’re not all that tough.

I found casual duels to be good for achievement hunting. The decks are smaller, so you draw the cards you need for the achievement more consistently.
I might be wrong, but I think playing a friend in Tavern Brawl won’t award progress toward tavern brawl daily/weekly quests.
If that’s the case then I’m sure Blizzard could do the same with achievements, not giving them out in matches vs friends.
Thanks!
