Adaptive amalgam

I have had a bug where my amalgam lost its dark gift, from avant-gardening, i choose the lifesteal plus 3 attack but when i played it to the board it did not have any buff. Also, happened when i gave it the lifesteal gift with xavious, it kept it on the board but after i shuffled it and xavioused it again it lost the lifesteal buff and gained the top of the seck buff which i choose. Not sure if that one is intentional or not though. I dont think dark gifts are limited but could be wrong. Or maybe it lost the lifesteal because it went to my hand and then to the top of the deck. Thank you, sorry for the long post

That’s an edge case with a lot of grey areas
The base rule is that moving a card in the reverse zone order (grave->board->hand->deck) will remove its enchantements unless explicitely stated otherwise (exceptions later)

When you discover a minion with Xavius, you put it form your deck to your hand
When You pick the dark gift that puts the minion on top of the deck, Xavius does not skip the “from deck to hand part”, even if it is overriden visually in the animation and looks like it goes from deck to deck

So you are putting the card form your deck to your hand then from your hand to your deck, which removes other enchantements since the hand part has not been skipped.

Coming to the exceptions : tradeable cards don’t lose enchantements when put back from the hand to the deck (to my knowledge, even if they are sent to the deck from another thing that their own tradeable)
And mostly, Willow specifically does not lose dark gifts when put back to the deck by its own dark gift

So there are 2 things that makes it unclear of the intent : Xavius discovers the card first, which technically puts it in the hand (which is confirmed by the game logs), then sends it back to the deck. And the dark gift exception is only made for Willow.
And for that we have no official intent despite all the reports

Additionaly to avoid some confusion : the adaptive amalgam and imortal prelate only keep enchantements as part of their deathrattles, which does not make them immune to enchantement removal, unlike Kingsbane that “Always keep enchantements” outside of its deathrattle
