Using Helm Of Humilation on an Adaptive Amalgam, if brought to 0/0 will lock the game for both players as you both become locked in an infinite animation.
Are you sure it’s infinite ?
They changed the amalgam if it dies like 15 times in a row without any user input.
If it really goes beyond that limit then sure, bug, it went through the net.
So, I decided to test this, and realised there has to be away for it to come back immediately. I used Helm on it, and it died and went back into the deck. That was it.
Death Growl on Thunderbringer
That combo was discovered in the showcase event.
They put a hard stop on the interaction with threads of despair but maybe it doesn’t stop the Helm of Humiliation one
Ahhh, I’ll have to check with Thunderbringer. Will take a look and get back to this thread.
Tested against the inkeeper and eventually you get to continue your turn, the amalgam definitively destroys itself
Pretty obvious when you’r ethe one doing it, since you see that you can play your other cards and end your turn normally, which means the game has already processed an end to the loop.
However if its your opponent you don’t have that information and it’s genuine to think that it’s endless (as it was before they put a security against infinite loops)
Same result. I tested against the Innkeeper as well, and there was one time that I THOUGHT I’d broken it because the game locked up, but after a little while, it started resolving triggers again. I wound up discovering a Threads of Despair, so I actually had some Threads and some Helms going. I also ran Silk Stitching, so one of the Amalgams I threw back into the deck would cast ANOTHER Helm. But despite my best efforts, it seems the interaction has been fixed, but like you said, it can SEEM like it goes forever if you don’t know about it.
