Actual fun anomalies pls?

So, since the anomalies are starting to get boring, can we have other ones? Like, actually fun ones that don’t all revolve around tavern spells or refreshes or whatever?

For some reason I got one today that I’ve never seen after dozens of games, “the tavern has only cards of its level”, but maybe it was just luck.

Wait. Youre telling me there are anomolies that aren’t “you can send your teammate gold” and “every turn get a portal spell”?!

Must be nice to have so much variety it gets stale…

Agreed, they’ve tried to play it so safe that most are just kinda boring.

‘every time you level up the tavern discover a tier X spell’

Wow dude so fun thanks, I’m so lucky this anomaly is like 30% of my games

And did you enjoy it or did you outplayed yourself?
A very tricky anomaly and sure i would prefer a higher variety of anomalies especially like cant refresh, tavern refresh itself every time you buy a card but not this one for Duos it’s a Nightmare and i already struggle. Even harder with the like 2 times i had this one and not really a good plan.

That anomaly is hilarious because you either have someone who sits on 2 if there’s elementals or everyone in the tavern throws the kitchen sink at racing to tier 6.

I’m getting fatigued on Anomalies honestly. I am so tired of lobbies cutting to top 4 or less on turn 9 or 10 or lobbies over on 10/11. It’s really pathetic to have a board like this getting 7th. I actually went out 5th because 3 of us went out on turn 9 and it was only 3 left in the lobby after that. I lost to 5 300+ elementals on my opponents board because he had double golden Ascendent on turn 9. In any normal meta turn 9 printing two triples each turn would be a very solid position. Not in this meta though. Ugh it is so frustrating.

It doesn’t show on this well but those first 3 minions all had DS as well.

I think I won. I got the 3drop Undead with the +1 buff on dearthrattle on the opposite sides and I got the Hero that would always make the corner minions attack first and I ended up with a golden Bonerender and 4 minions in total.

The only confusing part of that anomaly is that people might expect to get a triple later but the secret is it’s very easy to get a triple only if you stay in the same level.

I generally do well on gameplays I’ve never seen before. I do well when I’m interested and most players do badly because they usually like following a script.

I really enjoy playing mechs but with anomalies Mechs really don’t feel that strong compared to other tribes and that goes even for cases where you get lucky picks early and don’t enforce to play mech from the start. The only way where mech is strong is with some combo with brann like dragon trigger end of turn or with end of turn murloc with the t4 mech that battlecry bind a mech.

I played Duos where theres 3x easy anomalies (goldenizer, golden arrow, golden friendship) to get some goldenize power and if you play champs like Galakrond (if you have a good partner and can play reno + galakrond it’s gg as well) where you can get t6 early and if it’s something like Ultraviolet Descendant and you have her golden on round 6 it’s basically game over. And if you play a game with goldenize vs Galakrond and you don’t have Brann or something for stealing like Tess, maybe Scabbs i know on t1 i only have a chance vs this heroes, if their luck suck. Marin games are the same it really depends on the luck of your affixes and my Marin games mostly end with some kind of domination i carry or get crushed early, nothing in between. At least you don’t waste a lot of time.

I think the end-game mechs are just bad. They can give more magnetics but it’s too slow. The level-7 mechs and Protoss seem better but those are special cases.

You like the t7 mech? For me it’s the worst t7 even worse than the demon (time to get him and power scaling if don’t get as early pick e.g. by hero power). And the pirate is more a good generic card and not really for pirate exclusive. For the t7 mech i would wish to add a “Cleave” Effect as well, you could remove reborn and dual attack instead (can scored otherwise and maybe to powerful if all in one), amybe even remove dual attack magnetic at all in t7 available game cause cleave + dual is broken. I missed the cleave t6 mech. Nowadays there is no really a good cleave hydra basically never played the pirate same case for deathrattle and we just have the elemental (what’s not really a true cleave).

Because youre omniscience can see how most players play and think?

From what little i have seen from actually watching bad teammates. Imho, players preform badly because they play badly. Selling things they should keep, power tiering when already behind, picking apm comps they dont have the speed for, not pivoting strats when pieces of power show up in the tavern, etc.

You dont even know main cards’ names, i.e. Anubrak or how broken mechs can be with Dr. Monster mangetic spam or end of turn strats.

What do you actually know?
Because hearthstone aint it.

Can’t argue with that.

The sad reality is that right now the game is so fast it’s nearly impossible to get a decent size cleave built before the game is over. Not to mention Divine Shield is completely and utterly out of control. It’s easier to name the few tribes that don’t make complete boards of DS than it is to name all the ones that can. A unique mechanic that is essentially handed out to every tribe as a crutch because players are too fragile to be able to handle venomous.

The tier 7 Mech is awful and needs a replacement 100%.

The problem is that they are too fair. They removed Beatboxer and rightly so because it was a broken minion. However they just gave other tribes minions equally broken on 6. Then they give us a meta that is tailor made to turbo to tier 5/6. The minion pool in generally this season is probably the worst i have seen in a while. they range from utterly broken to WTH is this doing in the pool. There’s only a small handful of moderate minions.

They have generally bad late game. Nothing great exists to propel you too easily to top 4.

The Protoss only I guess.

I don’t see that many divine shield sources for most tribes: yes for Duos there is the t5 mech that has end of turn give your partner a divine shield (what’s nice if your partner plays high stats with low DS sources like Demon or Quillboar) and tribe type specific if my memory is right dragons allready had DS sources in previous season. New types with good DS sources is elemental with the new t4 that can perma reward DS as golden card (previous seasons just as tripple with the t6 surprise elemental) and murloc with the t1 random key word, t3 poision/ds select one and t4 stacking card. I imagine you don’t mean sources through hero powers, anomalies or the t7 taven spell that give a minion DS cause they are not that constant. And i agree that DS with elemental especially with the easy stacking through Ultraviolet Ascendant is a big problem. But other than Dragon, Mech, Murloc and Elemental there are no good sources for the other tribes and you are right that in previous seasons we hadn’t elemental (not constant at least) and murlocs. And the other tribes that focus on deathrattle and order wouldn’t even appreciate if i give them divine shield in a Duos game.

Good point btw. about mechs beeing a fair balanced tribe, can’t describe it better. But my memories about the previous seasons are mixed and i remember both the games where i have a nice stacked beatboxer and the games where i rushed to t5 and attempt to get him with a triple reward, so i can bind my magnetic triple that i need to play on board and stack a lot, than i need the beatboxer before i played my now stacked tripple and i need another magnetic on board where i bind this triple to, so i can perma stack a magnetic while every triple multiplies the stats from beatboxer. But that often don’t work i get my stacked magnetic triple before beatboxer, i don’t get the t6 triple reward or this triple reward didn’t give me Beatboxer. So i have to make a choice to try to get Beatboxer next turn and have my stacked magnetic tripple on hand (so losing hp) or bind him to a new magnetic card on board while there is only 1x copy of it and have to wait a next triple to start stacking beatboxer and board space was another problem you need to keep a special magnetic. So it was more a inconsistent build especially with the greedy approach to always bind cards to magnetic on your board.

I only can agree to this statement for elemental as tribe cause for elemental you only need the t6 Ultaviolet Ascendant and just keep stacking and play elemental but you don’t need any special cards before and only can power up the scale even more with Brann or t4 elemental that rewards divine shield. But if i know look for Quillobar hitting t5/t6 without gem rat or the worse t5 blood gem stacker, pirates without any cards that spawns pirates and buff their attack, beast without t4 beetle, demon without t4 Big brother and t2 sould rewinder, okay dragon really needs t4+ early, naga without a lot of spellcraft generator, mech without any magnetic stacker like the one on t2 or buffing through tavern spell like the one on t3 (yes you need to hit important cards on t5), running a bit out of time but it’s riscy to keep level without any strong cards while you get -10/-15HP hits. On t5 for most builds (except mech) it’s just to hit the power multiplying cards like Brann, Titus and Draktarri and t6 it’s mostly about finishing touches while you had established the necessary groundwork before. The most common occurrence i see (in Duos where you can see the decisions of your partner and not only the enemy board during fight) is especially true for people fixed on Quillboar rushing to t5 for t6 rewards while blood gems are on 1/1 so your turbo hogrider or chalga give you maybe +6/+6 if you hit them first. If i get the t6 Ascendant elemental even on round 9 and i don’t allready have a good scaling and no other elemental i sometime start playing elemental cause it’s just hit her and you win, can’t say that of any other high tavern tier cards from other tribe where i ditch everything for a single card.

100% agreed here i even would call cards like Chalga (t6 old Quillboar) a outdated bait pick compared to hogrider + gem rat but there are a lot of very useless cards for any situation.

Edit: PS sorry running a bit out of time and i don’t play the game in english so i don’t know all their english names and can’t look them all up. Hopefully you still got the point with the description.
