Achievement points, aside from collecting to show online or brag about, they hold no real value. They came around in “madness at the darkmoon faire” expansion but has not received any meaningful changes since then which contribute to the points value.
Hearthstone themselves classified these points as “satisfying goals for players” however, if they are not followed by xp or other items, there is no real point to achieving them.
Are they going to make any progress to being able to use these points for something? Is there going to be more than a point system for achieving easy to difficult challenges?
I urge Blizzard to try and use these points in a way that actually incentivizes players to achieve them. To reiterate, since November 17th of 2020 nothing has been added to the achievement side of hearthstone and it seems an unused opportunity to benefit the long term and short term players.
While the game right now may not be at its best, in terms of playability and card power, an appreciation of players work through the game would be nice.
they do get you in raids, when you’re looking for a group or raid, they usually ask you to show your achievement
it’s also true in pvp, a glad (or hota for rbg) achievement gets you in any pvp group
It’s only good for treasures. Gearing up mercenaries. They already have a gold system, so I don’t know what you would spend it on. Maybe, artifacts and power ups.
That’s not true. Last time I showed my Pet Achievement, I was kicked out of the raid.
Oh, you’re talking about achievements that can be used as proof that you did that raid. Well, congratulations, you sure showed me. You found the minuscule amount of achievements that could be useful in progression. Whatever did we do before we had achievements? Oh right, we checked Gearscore.
I doubt developers will add grander rewards to the current achievement system. However, the future could always hold that possibility.
At this point, you’re either an Achievement Farmer or you’re not! I for one love collecting those points, but I’d assume most people couldn’t care less (in Hearthstone at least).
Some of the achievements you get rewards for them based on that achievement and then points to show that you completed it. I mean there’s no reason why Blizzard should make some type of use for the points that we have earned.
If you play Diablo 3, there’s points there as well, and just like in hearthstone they accumulate when you complete stuff, but hold no other purpose and there’s no need for them to.
