About paladin popularity

They had a decent run with murlocs before there was even librams. Pure paladin has been reasonable to excellent for most of the last year.

The paladin craze will blow over when the meta settles a bit, but paladin is pretty core hearthstone tough deck as opposed to broken gimmick assault. It doesn’t need to be nerfed, imo.

Without proper support it wasnt that great on its own. Ashes of Outland libram paladin wasnt strong enough.

Once the Scholomance arrived, paladin received proper tools to raise in popularity and winrate - First Day of School, Braggart, Goody, Blessing of Authority, Broom, Pen Flinger

Librams didn’t really take off until Scholomance remember
in fact they were kind of a joke at the launch of AoO, until it got two pretty sizeable buffs

It needs to be powerfull, otherwise u have no gas left in comparison to the control mechanics.

Maybe the op should tell us his deck and ask how to counter paladin, instead of calling op a class that is outclassed by several others in the ladder.

Unlike a broken combo, or a board you can’t interact with, if Paladin ever becomes too oppressive, the meta will tech silences/removal techniques to neuter libram use. Honestly wouldn’t be too difficult with the amount of anti-weapon tech being run. Rogues can work in sap and classes without native silence can use owl to replace ooze.

Also, Pally must stick a board to win unless they can pen you down.

When Librams came out Pally was still weak. Took until the next expansion till support arrived to make Libram and Pure strong.

This is just a case of us having a short memory.

Hahaha, Yes.

"If weapons ever become relevant in one class, the entire meta bracket will tech in Ooze in hopes of beating this deck, effectively gimping their other matchups by a solid few %. "

Have to agree with op on this, the entire meta from d5 and up consist of 70% Paladins… maybe the answer would be some kind of decent neutral silence! Right now the only option is owl which is just horrible and a auto loose to draw against any aggro deck…
