i play the card, Elwynn Boar, then i play the card Yelling Yodeler, Yelling yodelers ability dont work on Elwynn boar, it should trigger twice, and as i see it, it should make two counters on the Elwynn baors effect, 0/7 ability.
further more the card Nine lives seems to have same problem.
The boar minion dying and the triggering of the deathrattle are 2 seperate things.
The deathrattle only checks if 7 or more boars have died.
If less than 7 have died then nothing happens.
The counter only increases if boars die. Triggering the deathrattle through other means has no effect unless 7 or more boars have already died.
dont realy explain it to me. because other cards deathrattle effect is triggered fine. like big owl or others. to me the logic is that it should trigger it like any other cards effects. and there in give the boar a counter. otherwise it is misleading, in my logic. so thanks for the answer but dont realy help me to understand that it should not work. that you say it just have no effect, doesnt realy explain the logic of yelling yodelers effect to me or nine lifes. im sorry.
well then the yelling todeler should actually kill the boar and trigger its deathrattle effect twice. right?

I understand that this might be a bit confusing.
The death of the boar and the triggering of the deathrattle are 2 events that are seperate from each other.
Let’s say you have a boar on the battlefield and then your opponent uses an Silence effect which erases the card text of the boar then the deathrattle can’t trigger if the boar dies.
BUT if the boar dies then this still counts towards the “7 boar counter” because 1 boar died. The deathrattle has nothing to do with this counter.
Look at the card:
The deathrattle does 1 thing and 1 thing only: to check if 7 or more boars have died.
That’s it.
That’s why the Yelling Yodeler does not work if your goal is to raise the counter.
The deathrattle only checks how many boars have died.
Less than 7 boars died this game? Nothing happens.
7 or more boars have died this game? You get the sword.
Your tactic to copy the deathrattle onto other minions is very powerful IF 7 or more boars have already died this game because you can get a fresh sword over and over again.
But if less than 7 have died then you are just triggering a deathrattle over and over again which does nothing because the prerequisite for the sword is not met.
The above explanation is how it works. Triggering the deathrattle more and more does nothing. Same for spreading the deathrattle to other non-elwynn boar minions to try to get the count up. The only way to get this to work is to actually forge some duplicates of the boar.

It was hard to get it every game and even sometimes I would lose all my work done when someone would play Steamcleaner and rid me of all my copies Id made into my deck. But it is a fun thing to finally get to happen. Sometimes if the opponent knows what you are going for and doesnt mind taking the L, they will let you get the sword. Not everyone is so considerate and will just destroy all your efforts to do so… but the good people out there that recognize what you are aiming to do, will want to see it happen as well as it isnt an often sight to see. lol
But like was stated before, once you;ve reached the 7 boars have died threshold, spreading the deathrattle or triggering it manually, can be done with your intended effects. The hard part if just getting 5 or 6 of them made and drawn/summoned (assuming you’ve got 2 in deck).
That’s because the condition on the Boar’s deathrattle is “if seven boars have died”, not “if this deathrattle has triggered seven times”.
