8 mana 8/8 rush charge in a class already full of face damage cards

8 mana 8/8 rush charge in a class already full of face damage cards.

same thing every game i play as warrior: 2 shield maidens, kargath prime, armor up every turn, rattlegore on board, 2 armor vendors, rancor, 4 taunts, 1 ooze, cant outarmor the dumbest class in the game.

At least you can outvalue hunters, but dh has 43 free face damage only from cards, not counting hero power or minions that stick, also they draw the entire deck in no time. And you expect control decks to exist.

Kind of agree that it is a bit ridiculous that the minion both have rush and charge… but you know DH can do everything:)

Aaaaaah I wondered why people didn’t whine about that 8/8 last week.
I guess it’s time now.

Honestly, whilst I don’t think this card is that much of a problem at this point in time. Because it is still quite a slow card, but I do have to question the choice of design behind it VS it’s obvious counterpart King Krush. Assuming you are generally playing both on 9, why is KK deemed to be legendary worthy, yet Illidari is only a common I believe? Yet can infact do more than KK.

I’m not really complaining about the card either just more curious, I did consider KK has some Beast synergies, but then Illardi has Demon ones itself, and ontop of that can be reduced with Skull potentially.

wait next expansion, when DH will get a weapon with windfury (better than doomhammer, obviously)

Krush is a beast which hunter has lot of synergies with, including otking with three of them dropped from hand by Leoroxx. Whereas demon hunter doesn’t have nearly as much synergies going on with demons (yes I know they have some, but not nearly on the level hunters have with beasts).

I understand that, but these are still very niche synergies at this point, unless I am wrong here? Last time I remember King Krush being relevant (outside of Brann in Highlander) was when Kathrena was still in standard. The fact is as a standalone card Illadari is just a straight up better version of KK, and you can run two of them. Just an observation on my end!

by pure coincidence OP is also playing a slow deck wihose only focus is on outlasting his opponent

gonna be hard to play that 8/8 when i burn it and 9 other cards

You know whats funny? All the complaints about a card of which I am willing to bet, you haven’t played once yourself.

I mainly play arena,I found plenty of occassions where you can’t use it to your advantage:

  • Being frozen
  • Multiple taunt minions
  • Various secrets
  • Sticky taunt minions

and while the card there is VERY strong, guess what. So Imprissoned Antanae, ANcient Fel hound and many more. Alex also does 8 face damage and has less restrictions…

i suspect you havent played it either. its forces an attack meaning it will still do the attack if its frozen

uhhhhh…what? I just pointed out I used the card multiple times.

When Illidan is frozen he can’t attack face so neither can the minion? Come on…its not rocket science

Nerf this 8/8 rush please. What about making it 8 mana 8/8 rush and with no other ability? It shouldn’t attack the enemy hero. Also make it overload (2) or (3).

and there is exactly 2 ways to freeze face now in standard, none seeing any play unless generated. and if that would be the rare situation you still get to kill the water elemental

Freezing face is a very niche ability in standard so that is not really a counter to it, this card is also very prevalent in Midrange or Soul DH. And I assure you that bad boy is going face almost all of the time. But again I don’t think the card is necessarily OP (unless discounted), I just don’t like how it makes a certain legendary minion look so pathetic in comparison ^^

it’s niche because it is not necesary against most classes. But Frozen Shadoweaver has seen play before but people just refuse to play cards they can’t find in the netdeck lists. While it may not bump your winrate against other classes you tech in a card to deal with problematic classes hence: tech card. If this DH minion is your nemesis, a solid-statted 3 mana 4/3 can help you win games. Besides, I mentioned freezing as one of 4 counters towards the minion…and its a tech card every class has access too.

at this point the class id of dh is powercreep.

While Illidari Inquisitor is a really good finisher for DH, you can out-taunt and out-heal them.

I think the real problem with Inquisitor is how terrible King Krush has become in comparison. I thought with the Core Set revamp Krush would at least be reduced to 8 mana.

But no, now there’s an actual better card than King Krush in DH which isn’t a Legendary, as well as a simply better option in Neutral.

New Alexstrasza is just better than King Krush now, for the same mana cost. Its damage goes through Taunt, and can heal you in the rare case you as a Hunter needs it.

Buff the Krush man, he deserves it.

I wouldn’t say freezing your opponents face for a turn is a particulary great tech choice, I would rather just run an ooze to at least make them wait till 9. At least an ooze has more applications outside of one class then.

But anyway, I am not trying to argue about the strength of this particular card or how it can be countered. Just how it’s not right that it’s a straight up better version of King Krush ^^

lets be honest here: if you are past 8 mana and your best play is to just freeze your opponents face for a turn, then you are probably losing regardless
