Define quickly, because I feel like Im going pretty fast, but I look at others hitting rank 6 when Im getting my first golden minion.
Wait what? I play at 7000 and everyone, including myself, is making misplays all the time.
I thought skill starts at around 10k - 11k?

Essentially what I mean by quickly is don’t try for tribes. Don’t try and force anything. Just pick the best characters you can from what you’re offered and level asap. I can’t tell you on what turn to level as it changes depending on what hero you’re playing but generally speaking you’ll want to stay on oar with the lobby. Even if it feels harmful to level instead of grab more minions. Sacrifice early to be strong later.

It’s significantly tougher to do well above 5000 rating for most players. However, it is far from “auto concede.”
I do agree it sucks that you will naturally lose more and more the more you play, especially if you’re someone who enjoys screwing around with off-meta setups. But I suspect if they implemented “casual” match making for BGs it would explode queue times pretty significantly. The fact that it makes off-meta clownery pretty much a guaranteed ticket out of the game fast blows, though. Sometimes I just want to have fun and don’t really care about winning. The ranked-only format doesn’t really allow for it.

Yah people tend to just hate on each other here instead of help. Imagine if we had global chat in hearth people would be ripping into each other all day.

Or ask for it? I mean that is one good reason this part of the forums is here. Despite all the other detractors and “what-did-they-say-agains?” replying most frequently. The people here are a source of help themselves, without any obvious helpers stating to watch YouTube vids. (“I’m sure that hasn’t crossed anyone’s mind to do that!”)
I just wish we could at least link cards from the blizzard site so when discussing a card and it’s interactions with other cards, it could be hover able and see what they mean, anywhere from someone wanting to link Baku by name, or just have a general descriptor like “Only Odd Deck guy” with a link to the same Baku, so we can not only be on the same familiarity of a card, but also learn any shorthand or lingo from the community. take away the ability to link outside of blizz all you like, at least let me share what the hell card I’m thinking of or trying to remember for describing stupid interactions I encounter.
