King Mukla: Crazy Monkey 4/4 After you feed a minion a Banana, give it +1/+1

Millhouse Manastorm: Magnus Manastorm 4/4 After you buy a minion, add one of the same Tavern Tier to Bob’s Tavern

HooktuskRaging Contender 5/3 ‘Trash for Treasure’ offers 3 options instead of 2.

Patchwerk Weebomination 6/6 Battlecry: Give a minion +1 Health for each Health your hero is missing.

Tess Hunter of Old 6/4 At the start of your turn, add your last opponent’s Buddy to your hand.

Well, thats one way to buff Tess

Is the Tess buddy even good? I guess at some point you might be getting free goldens which could be quite strong, but I imagine a lot of buddies would be useless and amount to just a free gold.

This revamp and Blizzards inability to predict the strength of many heroes in the past has me quite nervous for the future of BG’s. Should be interesting and entertaining for a while at least.

If the meta doesn’t shift too much being able to get consistent golden draws is insane.

So far Bru’kan, Tavish, and Mukla are looking interesting.

Figured I’d add the other revealed ones in this thread instead of making a new one

Vol’jin: T3 Master Gadrin 8/5 At the end of your turn, adjacent minions copy this minion’s Attack (Weird enough, this one’s golden has the exact same effect)

Patches the Pirate: T3 Tuskarr Raider 4/4 Battlecry: Give a minion +1/+1 for each Pirate you played this game.

Dancin’ Deryl:T3 Asher the Haberdasher 3/3 After you sell a minion gain +1/+1

Dinotamer Brann: T2 Brann’s Epic Egg 0/3 Taunt. Deathrattle: Summon a random Battlecry minion and add a copy of it your hand

Maiev Shadowsong: T2 Shadow Warden 4/4 Battlecry: Your next Hero Power makes the target Golden and awakens 1 turn faster.

Maiev and Patches buddies look absolutely terrifying.

EDIT :Apparently the Tier determines how quickly your buddy bar fills up, so I’m gonna go back and add them quick

This looks totally dumb.

I have less than zero interest in the buddy system.

Let’s put another level of rng in the rng heavy mode so we can rng some more.

idk, I definitly feel like the powercreep is extremely high with these, but I kinda feel like these minions would bring more consistency rather than rng.

Not a big fan at first sight but have to see how it will play out.
It does seem very snowbally and you can get unlucky with matchmaking or fights which could delay your buddy with 1 turn which could already be a big thing. (like for example you face a ghost and get no xp for the fight, you got very unlucky in your fight or you face someone who did power lvl so you also wont get much combat xp from the fight).
Will have to wait and see how it is actually implemented and if this plays a big role but there is some potential of the highroll nature of the game increasing with the buddys.

So yes, dont like it at first sight and would rather have had a new tribe or new mechanic for the fights itself but it could also be very fun i dunno. At least its something new which is nice i guess.

What is a buddy???

Basically every hero will have their own specific buddy which they get after doing certain things. Buddies are minions with an effect that should further improve your strategy (Mukla’s bananas get better, Milhouse gives you a mini-roll for every minion bought, Hooktusk makes your hero power more reliable etc).

It’s probably the way they want to shake things up a little. Some of them already seem pretty interesting/game changing imo.
