Are catch-up mechanics “rigging” if they are flat out telling you they are doing it?

Definition of rigged: manipulated or controlled by deceptive or dishonest means.

I feel misled.

I came here thinking it was a discussion of a new card or mechanic.

Another example of ‘Rigging’ I think only the bottom 3 heroes are able to play against an eliminated player. This has been a thing for a while I believe and is a good idea IMO.

The player is first doesn’t really need a blue turtle shell after all.

I hate this feature too: what’s the point of helping who is in the bottom, if in the process you eliminate who was on top?

It would be “fun” if in the next patch we see a “blue shell” mechanic that makes the number 1 player more vulnerable and a “bullet bill” mechanic to help the 8th to become 1st :joy:
(I’m joking, don’t do it blizzard)

this is good also in my opinion, because someone has to face the dead player and it’s fair that is one of the bottom players.

But I also feel like darkmoon prizes are different and can make a huge difference in the match outcome, so I don’t like the “stay in the bottom to get better prizes” approach

This is not true.

And for good reason: it would vastly reward greed.

Hp is a questionable way to calculate who is winning, in some regards.

If catchup mechanics aren’t allowed, why bother having the game last as long as it does?

This increases gameplay. That’s good.

I’m divided about this.

While it’s cool to have some catch up mechanics for players that got screwed in early game, it might promote greedy rushes and minimize the risk of doing it.

But it’s not rigging at al lol, please stop overusing this word, especially when its meaning has nothing to do with what you’re describing.
