20.2.2 Patch Notes

I’m appalled lmao.

WHY would you buff First Day on top of nerfing its mana cost if you’re not even gonna touch Hand of A’dal? 2 minions is enough.

That overly simplistic Hysteria nerf is pointless. The card still affects an entire board and Priest can rediscover and discount this **** over and over.

Crabrider is dead but who cares tbh it won’t be missed. Maybe still playable in Warrior as a comeback-on-board tool though.

Why Water instead of Flow? Lmao. Flow is the card that ramps up to 50 mana and creates obscene highroll/blowout games on Mage.

The buffs are meh too.

Oh hey, they hit Refreshing Spring Water instead of Incanter’s Flow.

Guess I’m wearing my Smug Face today.

Corrupt Priest!
Here I come

Awful decision is awful.

This shows how little knowledge blizzard has when it comes to balance.

Flow is literally ruining wild right now and is by far the best mulligan card of the standard deck.

You think 1 mana flow is going to change anything ? 1 mana draw 2 cards, which still costs negative mana when discounted to flow.

I don’t even care but I find it hilarious how bad blizzard is with their balance

Wow, they actually nerfed refreshing instead of incanter’s flow. LMAO gg.

The hysteria nerf gives people a little more time to think about whether or not they should play all their minions or not. The problem is not the effect.

Well, it will significally reduce the chance of an APM Mage to otk at turn 4 or 5, without totally destroying the archetype.

I mean, it’s a slower card now. Is it my preferred nerf? No. But people kept telling me that RSW wasn’t going to be hit, that Flow was 100% the card to nerf. And whaddya know, I was right. So, Smug Face Day it is.

Some of these are obvious and make sense. The crabrider nerf makes sense and is also interesting to me.

But some of these seem so off that I don’t really understand why they were made. Mainly the Paladin buff. Why was Paladin buffed?

But hey Shaman buffs, so I can lose with my elemental spell shaman again.

They are still weak to aggro and still dominant against slower decks.

I mean grats, you were right. But that just demonstrate how clueless blizzard is when it comes to balancing their game.

So it’s great for you but a bad thing for every Hearthstone player there is out there. In that case, you should’ve hoped to be wrong.

Instead of addressing the card that was really problematic they decided to go after its little brother and honestly I am speechless.

They’re not clueless, they just have a different criteria for balance and fun than the majority of players on this forum.

That nerf changes literally freaking nothing. Priest discounts the card multiple times anyway.

The problem is that Hysteria absolutely destroys any attempts at midgame pressure from decks that can go relatively tall (which is any deck now - Face Hunter, Miracle Rogue, Rush Warrior, anything) because it affects the entire board.

It should be 3 mana but hit 2 minions at most so people can actually play around it with tokens and Priest is forced to spend Condemns, Smites, etc. to fully clear. That’s fair. Hysteria even at 4 mana isn’t because it covers the whole bloody board.

It delays it by a turn. 1 mana does more than you think.

Reducing 20 mana of your entire deck for 2 mana.

That’s your idea of fun ? And then drawing your entire deck for negative mana.

The match-up spread vs aggro wasn’t bad once you are in high legend. (true vs everything besides sm).
Now you can’t play apprentice on 4 with spring water and retake the board vs a pirate warrior. So the nerf is huge vs common aggro archetypes.

Not when most other decks are just as busted.

It doesn’t delay anything relevant. Priest doesn’t need this card on turn 3 against any deck. Hysteria is mostly used on turns 4 and above in any case. And then rediscovered over and over with Scorpids.

It’s the fact that the card affects the whole board that makes it so busted. It means Priest can greed on removal. Save up Condemns and Smites. Hysteria should not be this bloody flexible.

Otherwise make Soul Mirror freaking 9 mana then.

As a wild player, I disagree…

mages need to change a wooping 0 cards in their deck with this change, and they can now springwater, corrupt ring toss, and play ring toss
