Mech Tag synergy Jeeves sees play in one deck, and that is Mech Paladin (low T2? High T3?). Even then, half the time they drop at 4 curve for the effect. Jeeves sees play in a higher Tiered deck that runs no mech synergy than it does in a Mech one. Silverback Patriarch would still be trash at 2 mana. Try again.

Aggro Players farming low ranks at Standard maybe. Wild has seen at least five to six different aggro archetypes steadily holding T1-T2 in Wild for an entire year. Aggro sucking in standard doesn’t justify the use of a single card to hold it together.

Pretty sure Highlander Hunter is a curve type deck is it not? It’s at the very least to the core a tempo deck with a bit of swing and comeback.

I’d argue the game more issues with cheating mana than curve. Curve is annoying, but cheating obscene amounts of mana has always been the core issue in the game.

Situationally strong applies to Kael’thas, Animal Guardians, Lightning Bloom, Fungal Fortunes, Corsair Cache, Dragonqueen Alexstraza, and like fifty other cards that were either seen problematic or were nerfed. Hmm, it turns out the entire community has a pretty terrible intuition on weighing the upsides and downsides of cards.

Guys should I disenchant my golden Illucia? I found her in a pack at day 1

Where is paladin nerfs ?

Unless you really want to keep it, you should. Once the nerf drops, a golden Illucia will get you 3200 dust if you disenchant her, which means you can disenchant her, re-craft her as a non-golden card, and still have 1600 extra dust.

Jeeves has been staple in mech hunter AND paladin for ages, just because mech hunter isn’t a top-tier contender at the moment does not remove the fact that the archetype was a staple for hunter in wild for ages.

Generally I’ve been seeing two ways to build it; the more aggressive variant and the heavier on-curve variant with some value. The former fares better, because hunter really can’t compete with priest, druid and warrior in the later stages.

The two overlap, for sure.

I’d say you’re mixing situation with deck shell here.

What did Illucia do in the last 2 weeks to justify a nerf to 3 mana? Kael’thas I get, it’s a good nerf and stops some very ridiculous turns. But Illucia seems very weird to get hit too when there’s so many other cards and other decks to choose from.

I don’t get it.

My guess is that Illucia at 2 mana was too good against aggro. Turn 2 or 3 you could easily steal their coin and one minion, which was often set the opponent back quite a bit.

Woot. those dupes are going to dust town.

Kael’thas nerf seems fine.

I’ll be suprised if this is the only nerf Mindrender Illucia gets before the Next Expansion.

I think there is a lot of room for New Cards in Future Expansions to balance out Illucia at 3 Mana though.

Next Expansion’s Cards could add counterplay through Disruption vs Disruption gameplay or some Faustian Deal type cards that deter the Priests from wanting your Hand/Deck.

I don’t know much about BG. But when you need to nerf 8 cards and 3 heros per patch…is anything in BG balanced at all lol.

Murlocs and Pirates are half dead now, give Beasts a turn now. Then it will be the Mechs’ turn.

i won’t

People joke a lot about BGs being in beta, but patches like this one explain why. The devs are much more willing to make big changes to the game while it’s in beta. And sure, beta/release for Battlegrounds might be a bit of an artificial distinction, but it’s how the dev team works.

Well I guess the nerf to paladin’s goody two shoes wasn’t considered necessary. Good call, those who fell on the right side of the discussion around that.

Thanks Blizzard. You really did Barry Allen the nerfs.

Can confirm: this strategy was legit. I climbed nearly 2K mmr in the past month by rushing Murlocs every game I could.

woah mindrender mustve been better than i thought i only used her to counter very specific plays

used her more on wild than standard

is there a broken combo i or something i dont know ?

In the coming days?

WTH? They can’t figure out when they are releasing the patch, they probably could have waited a few hours to announce it to figure it out.

I think mainly because how she utterly shuts down druids. You can just use all their lightning blooms and ramp after playing her and leave them with nothing. Possibly even play their guardian animals. They flat out lose to that.
