If you are in disagreement with these nerfs then you really didn’t want the power level of the game to drop overall. I expect in a month from their own words that we get another dozen herd nerfs to cards released this year. If they TRULY want to bring the games power down to the current expansion that’s how you do it. This is their chance to reset the games power and it looks like that’s what they are doing.
If you wanted it to stay where it’s currently at then go play wild and pick your 5-6 turn deck to play because that format will ALWAYS be like that. Standard needs to be the more reasonable format not just the entry level to Wild.
FYI: They are also doing the same thing with BG’s right now.
Eh, it’s really not a big deal. We already have a bunch of cards that add that kind of redundancy.
Tidepool pupils, fizzle, Zola as neutrals. Priest can do it in a dozen ways, as can rogue.
I get you hate the card, but it was an interesting deck building tool that was deleted.
Conman and shill are competitively unplayable.
Rogue doesn’t have the burgle cards needed to make them playable, and mage/paladin never will because generating cards from other classes isn’t their wheelhouse.
It was dumb to make cards that only work with things rogue might get in the future in a set meant to spread the class identity stuff elsewhere.
If they wanted burgle cards in PiP, make Conman/Shill generate cards so that mage/pal could use them. Don’t make the things actually impossible to make use of. They didn’t do that with any of the other tourist sets. (There were bad sets in PiP, but none had effects that explicitly do not work with the classes touring them)
Also, supernova is a bad card. There’s a ton of weak fire spells to hit, and not enough good ones. Plus it costs 8 and demands a nearly empty hand. It being used over tsunami in orb is terrible.
The most hilarious crap is that the Devs called Quasar toxic, and they pumped asteroid and plague play. They confirmed they are bad players who only play easy decks.
There are plenty of cards that arent useful for class tourists. Look at basically every warlock card for example that are useless for rogue. There is no reason every card should be made playable for mage or pali. Most classes only use 1 or 2 cards from the tourist and Mage and pali still have access to cards they will continue to use.
I dont hate conman or shill. The way they worked in mage or pali was unreasonable. What i dislike is you downplaying its impact until it gets nerfed and then you admit how powerful it was only retroactively
If shill and conman worked the way you are suggesting in rogue they would immediately be hotfixed. Shill especially
Conman could be used with goldbeard to great effect, but sea shill would be nuts in every rogue deck. It would be even more obvious why they shouldn’t work with cards that start in your deck. Sea shill-sonya-shadowstep double shill etc…
And they still wouldn’t be used as burgle cards xD
There is nothing interesting about conman repeating cards you already run. Its repetitive and unhealthy to replay huge spells and legendaries like that.
Those other cards you mentioned like pupil require set up and have more variance from a game to game basis for what is copied. Plus you still have to spend full mana on the cards you copy
A card like shadowstep requires your board to stick to get value or a loss of tempo to play it the same turn you play a card. It also does not repeat spells.
You would play tsunami as well as supernova. Even bad fire spells are good for 1 mana. Plus getting 4 or so is decent value you dont need to get a whole hand everytime you use it. You are too obsessed with getting the exact same orb every time. Orb will still be a great play even if it doesnt always hit tsunami. It will still clear the board, develop a board and deal some face damage.
The lock cards are just bad, they aren’t literally incompatible with rogue.
That’s the difference.
It would be like making overload synergies in shaman’s set during PiP with no overload cards, and then just shrugging when DK got upset about the cards being literally useless.
No, you don’t. You don’t even want to play tsunami for 8. You definitely don’t want to be paying 8 for random fire spells to fill your hand.
Big spell mage was only good because it was a mid range deck. It never could get away with waiting until turn 8+ to start doing things.
Eh, mage probably won’t run Skyla just to get metal detector. It’s not good enough. Pally might, but that’s more because lynessa is better standalone and can set up an OTK. Oh manager isnt good in mage.
The entire rogue set is pretty much dead for mage right now. It’s likely better to go back to using the pally tourist for big spell mage as lifeguard actually helps you to survive to play the expensive cards.
There really isn’t a silver lining for BSM right now. The deck was deleted.
BSM will still sport a positive winrate despite a significant dip in popularity. Everything else around it was slowed down too.
Well if it makes you feel better, 5 of 6 rogue legendaries printed this year have been useless up to this point. Plus a handful of epics (add quasar to the pile)
I think they overtuned the rogue starship kit with the buffs.
They definitely botched it with the Tourist keyword
They gave a sneak peek, and then decided to just drop the idea before utilizing even 5% of the potential lying behind it. This way, some players enjoyed, but some didn’t, and those who didn’t, won’t even get their chance to enjoy.
I believe they should return to this keyword while there’s so many combinations available to design.
Will just say one thing about conman… I had some fun with it repeating starship pieces from another class. It was still pretty bad but maybe with starship buffs I will give starship rogue with conman another go
It’s just dual class cards with extra steps, and a minor variation with the restriction of 1 leggo in the class. You can do it again by just making a tourist whenever they make dual class cards again.
They may be a handicap to the game design. Dual classing often nerfs 1 of the classes because the other may be overpowered with the shared cards or vice versa.
sure getting rid of one unkilliax at a time it’s rarely hard and a whole 1 mana nerf affecting classes that not only usually cast those cards past their 11 mana turn poor babies
How many decks besides insert flavor of the expansion druid and by extension warrior are able to run MCTec? Personally getting tired of the Timmy mentality of “I got to maximum mana I deserve to win the game and that’s the only fair way to play the game”
