Why do we still have imbalanced and unfair classes in Diablo Immortal?

A class’s distance and area of effect (colored circles\spheres – e.g. Inner Sanctuary, etc.) should all be consistently equal, no matter the class. Every class’s distance attack should be the same. Why should one class have an unfair advantage over another class? Demon Hunters & Wizards can attack from a much greater distance than a Monk, for instance. I am not talking about damage, just the actual distance.

I completely understand and agree that a Demon Hunter is a ranged class and should inflict the same damage as a Monk does up close. The Monk’s distance attacks should be the same distance as a Demon Hunter or Wizard. These are examples of how balanced classes should be.

If a class can immobilize another class, the other class should be able to protect themselves against that immobilization with a shield or another way. A shield is ineffective if a player cannot activate it. The same is true for invulnerability and many other abilities, other classes should have a way to counter them as well.

This should be true for all classes. Every class’s distance attack should be equal, every class’s damage attacks should be equal to other classes, and every class should have a counter to another class’s specialized skill, e.g., invulnerability, immobilization, etc. This is the only way to have fair and balanced gameplay throughout the game and especially in PVP gameplay.

These imbalances are forcing players to abandon activities in Diablo Immortal, and even forcing them to quit playing all together. I know many players have quit playing because of the unfairness and imbalance between the classes. I know that you are aware of this as well, since you have events trying to get back players who quit playing. Creating new classes will not keep players playing if the same unfairness and imbalance exists with the new classes as well.

I hope you consider these remarks and implement them to create a truly imbalanced and fair gameplay for all.

I came across your post as I have played multiple classes since game launch and have only found the class imbalance gap has vastly widened. With each patch simply one or two updated essences switches the power of a class soooooo drastically for PvP that all other classes are virtually useless. The crusader finally became a very powerful class with judgement, BUT it is a slow class and has a long cooldown of skills and thus has weakness moments. Fine. The whirlwind barbarian is once again totally unkillable. it’s AOE with terror gear is waaaaay too big. All it takes is 2 barbs in an alley just spinning around and match is over. The wizard zooming around and hitting folks offscreen and infinite pop up cc is now absurdly strong. The Druid launch was a flop. The patch to improve it was for wolf and not bear and so it was a virtually useless patch as it did nothing to make Druid strong enough to compete in PvP. Sure, a bear can take a couple of punches with 4/4 terror gear but it can not last long enough vs a barb, it can’t do anything vs wizard infinite popups, and doesn’t have the dps to kill anyone. An 8k resonance player should not be spanked by 4k resonance players simply because of their class. Druid is literally lowest killer in all BG matches as it does so little damage. It is incredibly unfortunate that people can not play the class they WANT to play simply because Blizzard has created an insane power creep which makes over half the game’s classes useless in PvP vs the two classes the #developers make godlike. If you could actually balance classes and matchmaking you would retain such a huge fan base. Every single match I see folks complaining in matches and clan chat about it. People are playing less and less because the fun is not there when matches and classes are so lopsided. THE PVP FOCUS FIX SHOULD BE #NETEASE AND #BLIZZARD TOP PRIORITY. If you survey all that play Diablo Immortal, then you will see that my post is an echo of ALL that plays the game. Just look at battleground leaderboards and it is so blatantly obvious how many folks play certain classes and how much higher their points are….for the only reason that they are the “meta classes.” Please improve class balance. As a continuously paying customer, I think it’s a very reasonable request.

There was a time a while ago where they nerfed barb, tempest and sader, after this nerf i had the feeling that class ballance was closer together then ever and maybe only the wiz with this annoying spam of red circles everywhere caused problems.
Sadly after the new essences came they managed to make things even more worse then before, i have the feeling that there isnt much testing going on if they release new essence.

This game needs some kind of test server where many people can test things before they go live and give feedback. The class imbalance in combination with the heavy pay to win factor and not very good matchmaking is a very frustrating experience for me atm (especially if i dont like to switch to one of the op classes because i dont like their artstyle).

Yup long standing and complained about for sure. I don’t even bother PvP unless it’s required. Even then I do the bare minimum to complete. There has always been an imbalance in the game, it’s the base of their payment modular but been broken since launch. As time goes on it gets worse and it’s likely never going to be fixed to everyone’s standards. If they feel their income has hit a point they would prob rather just close up shop and start again with something new.

Just look at the disposable society around us, nothing is built to last anymore. It’s build to make the most $ for shareholders etc then move on to the next thing.

Pretty sure there is some base testing with the partnership program but NDA and all we don’t hear much. The problem with this is the test %, I was one of the og PoE 1 beta testers and have done other programs as well. There is no such thing as a perfect beta, things always will show up once released as the user % skyrockets with more eyes and ideas on board. But we’ve also got the companies history over the last few years as well to go on. This is just a temporary cash cow that will be put out to pasture once it out lives it’s usefulness.

You are maybe right with testing but even after it went live and the problems are obviously the time they need to fix it is way too long, especially now at the start of a new bg season i bet this causes many frustration.
You are maybe even right with the cash cow but i must confess that even after 3 years i have still more motivation to play immortals then d4.
The core of this game is not bad, there are tons of great suggestions at forum, from streamers or on redit which could make this game great, the devs just must take the chance
(a new legendary gem/cosmetic crossover event after another will not work forever).

There are many players that completely enjoy playing PvP. In fact, I personally know of many that feel the exact opposite of wht you do, and only PvE so they can play PvP effectively.

Just because some don’t enjoy PvP, doesn’t mean that their should not be fair and balanced classes.

I agree with this, haven’t seen anything to change my mind yet, and stated so here: BG Match making is unfair, and everybody knows it - #8 by GuyDeValois-1816

if youre looking for fair and balanced id look elsewhere imo

To be honest, even in games like DoTA, LoL, or any multiplayer PVP games with matchmaking, the matchmaking still can’t make a fair and balanced matchup or a proper hero balance. :laughing:

I know the biggest factor here is way too many variables between. Skill/ experience, gem usage, secondaries plus each class has its own pros and cons.

And the player’s mood and state.

There is no way the matchmaking will know that the 10k whale at that moment is drunk. :laughing:

There were few times when I got whales in my party and I was like " yes, this time my party will win!" only to see my whale team mate performed even worse than me.
