Vault needs improvements

Currently the vault is annoying to do on the immortal side. You have to queue for hours on end, and you often get empty vaults, quitters, and queues cancelled due to a bug (the entry screen doesn’t show up for some party members). Therefore there is no reliable way to max out the 1400 hilts unlike shadows who can just go to floor 3 and exit.

Some potential fixes:

  • Change the mechanics for the shadows such that they don’t get any rewards unless they either leave after clearing floor 4 or they are killed by an immortal. (The current incentive is just 10 hilts towards the per-floor cap which is a pittance.)
  • Make it possible for immortals to get hilts even if they don’t get any matches or get broken matches. An easy fix would be to just award hilts based on queue time, although this should be nulled if you deliberately cancel a match to avoid fighting.

The vault defense should give Immortal a minimum hilts if they failed to defend the vault. Imagine you queue for an hour and failed in all engagement. Congratulation you just wasted yout time for nothing.

Also they should add some incentive to encourage Shadow to fight Immortal more often in the vault too. At this point, there are too many Immortal doing defense but too little shadow want to fight Immortal at vault.

My team queued for 30 minutes for one vault defense on average because there aren’t enough shadow to do the vault.

Maybe they should reduce the time limit from 10 minutes to 5 minutes for shadow to re-enter the vault and increase the cap from 5 vault to 10 vaults per day for shadow.

Also, do something about the shadow camper strat at the entrance.

Well, I just did an hour’s defence.
We were alerted twice in that time.
On both occasions, there was just a single Shadow on Floor 4.

Shadows can earn hilts / gold by entering, clearing 3 floors and leaving.
Immortals have to fight and win. Doesn’t sound like a good deal, does it?

And then there’s stuff like this…

It doesn’t sound like a good deal for the strongest and most experienced clans on a server to ally against the weakest. For instance, there are constant agreements for the same clans to rotate on the Immortal Throne. On my server, there are clans that, on RoE, stand aside, sabotage, and don’t fight the Immortal because they have an agreement with the three strongest clans, who have been immortal for three months now. There are too many irregularities around the Immortals, there are clans that use them only as cash cows, stop complaining and play the game. You can’t have everything easy and adjusted. You want to both hold your server and not release immortality, and at the same time receive the most bonuses, and the shadows where there are people who haven’t been immortal for two years… it doesn’t matter, they don’t deserve it? It’s more important for the Immortals that you can make your deals there and receive your rewards? Stop complaining

Immortals can only get rewards if they fight and win. Shadows can get rewards for not fighting at all. If the Shadows all decide to just do Floor 3 runs and leave, Immortals don’t even get to do defences, and earn zero rewards.

The Shadows are the ones that have it easy when it comes to the Vault.

Did you not read what I wrote or did you not understand it? Will the whales stop making deals for the throne and will they give smaller clans a chance to be Immortals? If everything is good for the Immortals and it is easy for you and you get more and more rewards from everywhere, it leads to genocide against the Shadows, because not every Shadow Clan has the opportunity to be Immortal. There should be something in which the Shadow Clans surpass the Immortals. I am for that. It can’t always be that those who are the richest and most powerful have everything ready for them every time. The Shadows clan should also surpass the Immortals in something. Now, did I express myself well Now?

What you’re talking about has nothing to do with the subject of this thread which is that getting rewards from the Vault is vastly easier as a Shadow than as an Immortal.

Another day I spent almost an hour just for 1 Vault Defense. :sunglasses:

Spent for 40 minutes today - 0 Vault Defense.

Wasted 40 minutes for nothing.

Too many defenders, and too few raiders.

This is as a direct result of the changes to the Shadow tasks, i.e. having 20 tasks to do weekly, rather than 3 tasks daily (one of which was always to raid the vault).

Shadows have two things to accomplish each week…

  • Open 40 chests
  • Earn 350 hilts

For the chests…
If they do floor 4 clearances, it’ll take them 4 raids.
If they do floor 3 clearances, it’ll take them 7 raids.
This means they can be finished with chests by Monday/Tuesday.

For the Hilts…
These are earned at a rate of 10 per floor entered.
If they go as far as floor 4, they earn 40 hilts per run.
If they go as far as floor 3, they earn 30 hilts per run.
This mean they can be finished with Hilts by Tuesday/Wednesday.

As they no longer have a daily task to raid the vault, they don’t have any good incentive to raid the vault on Thursday / Friday / Saturday, because they’ve already maximised their currency rewards. This results in the Immortals having very long queue times and/or hours where they don’t get any defences at all in the second half of the week.

I never do vault defense until they changed the shadow dailies to weekly shadow. Was vault defense last time extremely active and easier for Immortal to do vault defense?

Well, back when Shadows had daily (as opposed to weekly) tasks, one of those was always “Raid the Vault”. That meant the Immortals had a supply of Shadows every day to defend against.

So it was easier to get vault defense as Immortal lasy time. :frowning:

From today’s Patch Notes

Defend the Vault

We’re updating the Raid the Vault event to address two areas of improvement: Immortals had to wait too long to participate in the event, and we wanted to encourage PvP elements that push the Shadows through the entirety of the Vault more enticing.

  • Shadows and Immortals will no longer forfeit rewards for losing a match. Instead, the defeated team will receive reduced rewards compared to the winning team.
  • Chests are locked when the Immortals enter the match. The Immortals must be defeated to loot the chests. Players no longer drop anything they’re carrying from previous floors.

[Optimization of camp gameplay]

  • The materials obtained by Shadow after opening the treasure chest will not be lost due to being defeated by the Immortal (even on the current level).

  • The Shadow will fight the Immortal, and will receive additional combat rewards based on the number of treasure chests opened this time during settlement. If the Immortal is successfully defeated, more rewards will be obtained. If you do not open the treasure chest this time, you will not get it

  • The cooldown time of Shadow Raid Treasure House is shortened from 10 minutes to 3 minutes.

  • The daily limit of Shadow Club raids on the treasure trove is increased from 5 to 10 times.

  • Added a second confirmation for canceling the queue in the Shadow Society and Immortal Camp Treasure House gameplay to avoid accidental clicks.

  • After the shadow will enter the treasure house, the captain can no longer kick out the team members.

  • After Shadow enters the fourth level, it will give an additional 10 seconds countdown before sounding the alarm.

  • The trigger range of the door where the shadow will enter the lower floor has been increased, making it easier to activate.

Today I was able to get 6 vault defenses as Immortal within one hour after the patch update. Not sure tomorrow I can get the same amount of vault defenses. :sunglasses:

Okay, so yesterday was my first time as a Shadow since the patch. Shadows can now do 10 Vault raids per day, and they have a 3 minute cooldown after exiting one before they can do another one. Okay, but this means that I finished my 40 chest and 350 hilt quests yesterday. So what incentive do I have to go into the Vault on Tuesday to Saturday? Doesn’t this mean that the Immortals will become even more frustrated by a lack of defences as the week goes on? This didn’t encourage more Vaults, it just concentrated them to Monday / Tuesday, most likely.

Yeah. I have done my shadow quests and opened all my chests on Monday alone, and I am not going to step into the vault until next Monday.
