Dear Blizzard,
There is an absolutely major issue with gem duplication on the Desolate Sands server cluster. As of this morning in the market there are stacks of 900+ rank 5 normal gems of each type posted for 8-11k platinum which is way outside of the normal price they are usually posted for. Over the last few weeks our legendary gem market has seen seen significant price increases across the board for 1,2 and 5 star gems. This is allowing whales to get even stronger and low spenders to not afford legendary gems.
It has come to my attention that the person who found this exploit has now sold their account to someone else and has also sold the exploit to others. One of my clan members has provided steps to use this exploit. I will not list the steps here so it can’t spread further but am happy to share the details in a future correspondence. Please contact me immediately.

Is it only rank 5 gems you’re seeing in stack sizes like that? I checked the server I’m on and found these, so maybe the problem isn’t limited to one server cluster and the higher rank gems…

These stacks are at very high plat prices compared to the rest of the market.

At the moment it just seems like there are only large quantities of r5 gems posted. We had seen large stacks of lower rank gems over the past couple of weeks.
It very well could be taking place on other servers. I only play on Desolate Sands so I can’t confirm other servers.
It’s in other servers too. I was thinking it was just botters that have hundreds of accounts and just farm hidden lairs every week. I don’t just see it with tourmalines either. It’s everything except ruby, ironically. It’s destroying the market. Essentially what they can do is just flood the market with “bad money” which is why you are seeing such insane prices on all the legendary gems.
If only we had an example of this in modern society…hmmmmmmm
Blizzard—you need to fix this issue ASAP or risk permanently destroying DI’s economy.

People are saying this has been a hack for a long time and is just now out in the open. We are fighting against players with Rank 9 and Rank 10 secondary gems that didn’t put in the time or money. Without this dupping there is no way to get to Rank 10 honestly you would need 20k rank 1 gems. We need all the people who benefited from this accounts rolled back.

All the dups need to be reversed and taken from players that benefited. People who didn’t benefit from this have been paying full price and/or not dupping. Blizzard can’t just pull them off the market and call it good, players are running around with mostly Rank 10 gems that didn’t have them a few weeks ago. When there are competitive aspects of the game and money involved it all needs to be reversed or people will be seeking refunds.

How does something like this go 48hrs without acknowledgment…? Does this game have any type of support at all for the non-chinese version? It’s insulting, to say the least.

I am afraid I don’t work there so don’t really have the ability to say anything. When and if they have a formal statement to put out, they will. Usually that is:
- when they need to shut down something in game temporarily while working on a fix
- when the issue is actually fixed and they wish to notify customers - along with telling them of any penalties.
Although they don’t always announce penalties either so

One duper comes clean on reddit: Reddit - Dive into anything
102M plat sold over 4 days by one duper. A verified exploit thats been out in the wild at least since end of September. Economy is ruined by this.
Yet, still no response. This is a complete failure to customers. Why should anyone make purchases in this game again?

They may have banned the duppers but they have left the dups in the game, there are now monster players running around with massive amounts of sub stats just smashing other people. They need to take the dups out of the game or pvp is done!!!
