Update storyline requirements to remove normal requirement

We are getting many ‘bug’ reports of players not being able to do events or being stuck at points of the storyline due to the Normal lock. Not only the but the use of Spectral Allies.

It is well past the time to update the requirements from the storyline. Not only are players getting large xp bonuses but the ability to skip to lvl 60 and enter paragon make this issue more prevalent. How many players have gotten fed up with the game not progressing and just quit?

Well, if we’re on about things that should be fixed for new players in the storyline, the devs should also fix Pyl’s Remains. For over two years I’ve responded to threads about this. As part of the storyline, players need to enter a Challenge Rift, kill Pyl, collect Pyl’s Remains, and hand it into an NPC. This is part of the storyline that leads to the player needing to kill Lassal on Normal, in order to unlock access to Hell I (which is obviously required to unlock all other difficulties). The issue is that Pyl’s Remains are not classed as a quest item. If the player completes the Challenge Rift, but visits the Blacksmith before handing them in, these remains can be Salvaged, as if they were a raid boss’s remains. If the player does this, they cannot complete the quest to hand in Pyl’s Remains. They cannot re-acquire the item (re-running the Challenge Rift, Pyl will not be present) and they can not progress out of Normal difficulty as a result. This ends up with their one and only option being to start another hero. Yes, because a quest item can be destroyed / not re-acquired, the player has the choice of creating a band new hero from scratch and levelling it up to the same point or, as I saw in some threads, they decide to just quit the game due to this nonsense.

It’s been 2+ years. Fix it.

I just had a new person ping me, having just been 'instant to 60" I instructed to do all Gold Banner quest line in Normal, to ensure they get credit. Which feels counterintuitive, since they are powerful enough to handle H1 pretty effectively.

I wish there was a clear way to abandon the progress of those Green/Gold quests, and have them start up on restart or visit an NPC.

Tbh I’m shocked there isn’t a pay to skip option If you’ve completed storyline on one char $5 per alt would pop like crazy
