Dear Diablo Immortal team,

I am the leader of the Phoenix clan in the Oceania region. I am writing to express concern regarding what appears to be an imbalance in the Shadow War matchmaking system. Specifically, it seems that certain clans may be receiving preferential treatment over others.

Please consider reviewing the war brackets for Weeks 3 and 4 in both the previous and current Shadow War cycles. In both instances, our clan achieved Top 10 status in the first week. During the last cycle, we faced a strong opponent in our bracket who was defeated by us. However, the same clan was placed in our bracket again the following week. We were defeated in that round and consequently lost the opportunity to participate in the Rite of Exile (ROE).

Most recently, on Saturday, another Top 10 clan lost its title and was subsequently placed in our bracket (we also remain a Top 10 clan). If we lose this match — which is likely, considering the other clan has received support from high-level players (“whales”) from a stronger clan — we will once again miss the chance to enter the ROE.

It is important to note that both of these clans are friends with the strongest alliance on the server. In contrast, we are a neutral and independent clan and have not sought assistance from major clans or whales in Shadow War.

If matchmaking is indeed random, we question the statistical likelihood of being paired against the strongest available opponents in two consecutive cycles during the critical ROE qualification week. Conversely, if the matchmaking is not random, this raises concerns about possible favoritism toward certain clans or alliances.

We respectfully request clarification regarding how Shadow War matchmaking is determined and whether measures are in place to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all clans, regardless of alliance affiliation.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
