The new spam annoyance

Can you guys do something about these? The dang bots going crazy talking to each other now. 20 messages like this in a row or just random spam, we can block but more show up and the list is full in no time…

Dude, just do what I did within 5 minutes of playing the game. Turn off world chat. You’re not gonna miss out on anything important.

yup lets ignore the problem and work around it. I usually keep wc on to keep in touch and help others, most times I can ignore it but 20 in a row a little crazy

The real issue behind these spams is that most of them are farming bots that randomly post smiley faces, trying to convince the company that they are not farming bots.

This all leads back to their complete denial that this is happening and their complete refusal to do anything about these bots, plat bots, and susans and the like spamming.

Another part of this is their refusal to not make players play the game to get rewards. Yes, this is another topic, but also related.

Once players discover a way to gain rewards, platinum, etc, without doing anything, by taking advantage of bots or loopholes in EULA, or any of the other ways have have been reported ad nauseam, in this forum, they will continue until they are stopped.

That is not always an option for all players. For instance, any clan leader that cares about maintaining their clan, needs to watch world chat to make sure their clan members don’t engage in activity that is not in agreement with their clan standards.

There are so many different nonsense spam going on now, I need to clear out by blocked list, at the minimum, twice a week now from blocking all of this spam.

Copy, report, send and block, endlessly every day is complete and utter nonsense, when everyone knows that it wouldn’t be that hard, or costly, for them to implement some filters to get rid of all this spam, that is plaguing their players.

They have created filters, although they are not very good (forbidding words like cucumber), for inappropriate words. Once you have a filter built it is easy, and not costly, to make it look for anything or to tweak it so that cucumber doesn’t get blocked.

It appears that the companies rarely care about their core player base and their requests. Yes there have been some changes that came about because of this forum, but there are countless bugs, improvements, and long-standing requests that fall completely on deaf ears.

It is very rarely that this forum’s moderator ever responds to anything.

It is very sad, that these companies don’t realize the true cash cow they have in this game and the many dedicated players, that only wish for a few changes, bug fixes, and improvements to improve their gaming experience.

If they did more of this, there would be less players leaving, more happy players taking part in PVP activities, more players playing, and more players putting money in their shareholders pockets.

PLEASE don’t let our requests fall on deaf ears.

That is why telling someone the solution to WC being craptastic is to block people is absurd! If the block list weren’t limited to 100 entries and we could literally block anyone/everyone we don’t want to see, then it becomes more viable, but what about those people that are just on a rant, that given a time out, would calm down & rethink how they’re acting?

Hence the idea Meteorblade was so quick to poopoo:

We need to do something…
If Blizzard won’t dedicate resources to actually cleaning up the mess, they should give self-service tools to do it ourselves.

they’ve done it once before which was a good few months of silence

The idea of self guidance which was proposed is way too easily abused. Maybe if blizz/ease did something about reported accounts all the issues would be solved. When is the last time you got a mail thanking you for reporting? I don’t even remember which leads me to believe theyve given up this part to the ghost
