Dear developers,
The hell or “non-master” leaderboard was a relic of the past. Previously, Hell difficulty was up until P799. It was a very long journey to enter Inferno, so the separate leaderboard makes sense. Now that old H8 has been squished to H1 (Paragon 99), what’s the purpose of limiting the leaderboard to Normal and H1 only? New players will just zip pass P99 quickly with all advantages given to lower paragons. It is understandable that the other big reason of separation was due to two new alternative slots for Weapon and Off-Hand for old Inferno 1 (or current H2), and eventually wrist slots… but nobody is down there in the Leaderboard.
How about pushing the lower leaderboard up to Hell 3 (P299)?
- At least it will makes the board alive with new players competing
- It has been done in speedrun event last time, where H3 players are still placed on lower leaderboards
- In random dungeons, since old Inf4-6 has been squished to H3, H1-H3 can still queue together. So no reason to separate them in leaderboards
- Alternate and wrist slots, even runes and terror gears wont make much advantages over higher league due to paragon difference with “master” players, so I dont think we need to stick to old rules of separation.
Or better still, just make non-master leaderboards up until Inferno 3, since we will have Inf4-6 anyway, and make it a moving bar everytime there is new set of difficulties. This will surely make the master leaderboard always fresh and separate the less active players.
One more, we used to have this “Advance to Inferno” button where we could choose to advance to next paragon/difficulty when Inferno was first introduced. Please bring it back. If the post for “Hell” leaderboard is moved, then this should be moved accordingly as well, be it at the end of H3 or Inf3 paragon.
You will be surprised how many players actually wanted to have this. Usually they are casual players or alternate characters, and they just wanted a point to min-max everything without racing to renew equipments every week. And the presence of specific leaderboards certainly will make it even interesting for casual players. The active and big guys can kill each other at the top, while they chill at the low ranks.
INB4 “ohhh you must play latest contents you are missing so mucchhh”. Stop that please. We know. But developers apparently facilitate separation of difficulties so we are discussing that, not other topic of how beautiful the world of constant racing you live in.
