Solution for Hidden Lair Theft?

  • Found a hidden lair
  • Use party finder and wait
  • Some guy appeared and entered the Hidden Lair before my party was filled.

I mean, I can enter the hidden lair first and then only recruit others, but somehow many people seem very resistant to the idea that they need to walk towards the hidden lair.

I wonder if maybe Blizzard can do something on this like giving the first one who found/tagged the hidden lair 30 seconds to form a party before it got stolen by others just because the one who found it is USING the PARTY FINDER feature.

i’d have to say it wasn’t theft. first come first server. it’s not a single player game.

Heck, I’ve been stood at the entrance of a lair, with an active Party Finder advert running, typed out in World Chat for people to join, seen someone approach the lair, clicked on them and invited them to the party, and they’ve ignored the invite and just run past me and into the Lair.

On the server cluster where I play, this sort of behaviour is very much frowned upon and if people manage to spot the ill-mannered player’s name / clan tag, a quiet word with their clan officers generally gets them a severe talking to and for repeat offenders they tend to end up clan-less in short measure.

As for why players don’t like to be summoned to a lair you’re already inside, it’s because it could involve a very long run (there’s some really out of the way spots for entrances in Frozen Tundra, for example), the people inside the Lair might have already completed some of the mini-events (so you’ve potentially missed out on gems) and, once the Lair is complete and you exit it, you’re outside the entrance to the Lair, rather than back wherever you were questing before going there.

Another possibility is they are already in a party, a lair hunt party, so they have no reason to party with you.

what if it took a full group or a minimum of 2 to channel the door to open?

i dont even get paid for these ideas. blizzard should hire me.

In which case, when I clicked on them to offer an invite, it would show them as part of a 4/4 party, not an individual player and I wouldn’t have been able to issue an invite.

True, but I am talking in general where those who entered the lair before us may have been in a party.

As long as someone clicks ‘Find party’ button on the lair entrance others should be blocked from entering it.

I could see that being abused, unfortunately, especially by trolls

My general rule is, tap find party, no instant hit, cancel, enter, clear lair solo

I think premade lair hunt parties are really the only solution to OP though, see one, immediately hit enter with your full party. I actually prefer to solo them because they seem like they scale better. Some can be very hard, others easy. I like a challenge
