Hello, I was wondering when it goes from Immortal to adventure and from adventure to Shadow, why can’t it be the other way around, it could be a win win situation for all players, if someone decides that they don’t like Immortal at the end of the first week immo, they leave and go to shadow, why can’t it be like this with the shadow left faction and go to immo. With the proviso that there would be some challenge for the one who would walk like this, for example: 1v 1 or kill few, immo ppl or something
Shadows clans can recruit Adventurers and Shadows.
Immortal clans can only recruit Adventurers.
The reason for this is simple. It’s a Cycle of Strife, i.e. it’s an inbuilt and intended mechanic that the Shadows should eventually overthrow the Immortals so the winning Shadow clan can become the new Immortals clan. Part of ensuring that is by making it progressively harder for the Immortals to recruit players the longer their reign is. That’s because once a player has become a Shadow, they remain one until the end of the reign and thus are unavailable to be recruited. If Immortal clans lose players, it’s tough to replace them, as they cannot recruit from the Shadows.
In short, it’s this way to make it more difficult for the Immortals to reign and give the potential for the cycle to turn sooner than at the end of Week 7’s Rite of Exile.
