After taking a lot of time off, I came back to being level 330. Only took a couple weeks to catchup, which I liked, but now there are changes that have made it a joke to play. It used to be that if you had the CR for an activity, you rarely died unless you didn’t follow the mechanics of a fight. The challenge dungeons 1 shot me repeatedly no matter where I stand. Having 3000 more CR than what is suggested should give some defense against instant death, but I guess not. If you change the difficulty to normal, you have to wait forever to get a group most of the time. The rewards aren’t worth even doing dungeons anyways, as every drop is 100 points lower than what I already have equipped. It’s the same with every other activity in that nothing is an upgrade anymore. Hitting Para 1000 did little to CR as the only upgrades were the greens. That let me do 4 more levels of challenge rifts. You used to be able to do another 50 before when I last played. There is absolutely nothing worth doing anymore. It’s all the same quests and old content as before with no rewards. I will now logoff again, and maybe come back in another year just to play catchup again, so I can at least get upgrades that make you feel like you are doing something for a purpose.
This is where your Armour / Armour Penetration / Potency / Resistance secondary stats come in. Even if you have enough CR, you can still get slapped about a lot if your Armour / Resistance is low compared to the offensive stats of the mobs you’re fighting. Also, some classes / builds are a lot tankier than others.
