Mirrored Jewels Elder Rift Event - 9th February to 13th February

Important for the F2P folks, from the patch notes…

Once from February 9, 3 a.m.–February 13 at 3 a.m. server time you can toggle on Mirrored Jewels before you begin an Elder Rift run. For just that run, every Legendary Gem you receive as a reward will be accompanied by an additional random Legendary Gem of the same type and random quality.**

This means that…

  • You can only do one of these Mirrored elder rift runs between those dates.
  • Gems dropped from using Rare Crests will not be mirrored.
  • Gems dropped from using Legendary Crests will be mirrored.
  • Gems dropped from using Eternal Legendary Crests will be mirrored
  • Regardless of whether the dropped gems are bound or unbound, the copies will all be bound

So, to maximise the benefit of this event, save up any legendary / eternal legendary crests you can earn (e.g. purchased with WB token, crafted by embers, bought at the Hilts NPC, rewards from Accursed Towers, event rewards, and so on) so that your one and only Mirrored elder is done with 10 legendary / eternal legendary crests (any combination thereof) so that you get 10 bonus legendary gems from that run. Even if you don’t get lucky with which gems drop, the copies will be some free gem power for upgrades.

Well RNG being RNG.

at least you got 28 gem powers. I got 20 gem power. Meanwhile, my clan mate got like 64+ gem powers.

For my mirrored run, I had 4 eternal and 6 legendary crests.
I got ten one-star gems, so the mirrored copies gave me an extra 10 gem power.

The drop chances of 1-star, 2-star and 5-star gems are not the same…

When you use a legendary or eternal legendary crest, the chance of the crest generating a 5-star gem is 4.5%.
So, with 10 crests used…

Chance that a legendary gem is a 5-star = 0.045
Chance that all of X legendary gems will be 5-star = (0.045)^X
Chance that all of 10 legendary gems will be 5-star = (0.045)^10 = 0.000000000000034050628916015

No-one got 640 gem power from the event because it’s a 1 in 29.368 trillion chance.

You absolutely can, especially when the chance of a 1-star is over 75%. I’ve seen pictures on my clan’s Discord of their results. A couple of others have had the same result as me, i.e. 10 1-star gems, but we’ve got people that had 3-4 2-stars, and some with multiple 5-stars, which is exactly the sort of different results you’d see from a random distribution.

If that were the case, they wouldn’t provide information about the event coming up so far in advance that it was entirely possible to earn sufficient crests without spending any money, in exactly the ways I described in my opening post, which is how I did it myself.

So, you’re just going to ignore the part of my post where I mentioned clan-mates getting better results than I did? Grabbed a couple of screenshots from Discord showing clan-mates’ results…

2 2-star, 8 1-star…

4 2-star, 6 1-star…

1 5-star, 2 2-star, 7 1star…

In terms of gem power obtained these equate to…

  • 16 gem power (double to 32)
  • 22 gem power (doubled to 44)
  • 47 gem power (doubled to 94)

So, in just 4 results, the variance is from 20 gem power to 94 gem power.

There is or else I would have gotten 28 gem powers as you did but I didn’t. Many posters from Diablo Immortal also shared their results of the mirrored jewel event and they found 5-star gems and more gem powers than you and me.

You claimed that Blizzard duped people into buying orbs for this event and I am pretty sure most of us were using the free in-game legendary crests.

Please don’t tell me you bought 10 legendary crests with your orbs for this event, right?
