May we PLEASE get some balance to the pvp bgs?

Could we please get some balance to the pvp, battleground system? I have seen players who are paragon lvl 150 get totally wiped by a 1050 plvl. Even if we are paired up by the same paragon, the combat rating isn’t balanced. The pvp system has, no, NEEDS to be balanced for everyone to enjoy the game. YES: whales can be whales BUT much like the C.O.D. mobile system players should be matched with players of the same level, paragon level AND combat level to make a more enjoyable game for everybody in the community of Diablo Immortal.

More over… how come battlegrounds are only 3 times a day for 2 hours? I have seen the change with battleground rewards accumulating even after the 0/3 enhanced rewards so I know this change can happen. Not only happen but enhance the game even better.

How about we add 1v1 arenas where players go agiasn’t other players and not mobs and where we’re not separated by a wall? I believe that would make it even more enticing to play the game. Like arenas from world of warcraft, only this time it would be more like DUEL arenas. Arenas where it’s 1v1 like in duels.

Thoughts anyone? Sick if devs can comment.
And, as always, thank you so much to hear my comments in the game.

Currently, servers are at Paragon 1050 so Inferno has been available for 25 weeks (800+250), i.e. five months. At this point, unless they’re brand new players, or they’re an alt hero, pretty much everyone is in Inferno which means, when they queue up for Battlegrounds, it’s Inferno Battlegrounds they’re being queued up for. When a player that is sub-800 queues for Battlegrounds they initially get put into the queue for Hell Battlegrounds. However, there just isn’t going to be 16 sub-800s available to fill a Battleground with in a timely fashion. For that reason, if the sub-800 has waited a while, rather than let them queue up for 2 hours and not get a match, they’re put into an Inferno Battleground instead.

Yes, it sucks for the sub-800 to be put into an Inferno Battleground, as they likely have no chance of being effective there, but they do have some chance of getting a win due to the other players on their team. The alternative is that they queue up for Battlegrounds and due to the paucity of sub-800 players they might not get a match before the two hour window the Battlegrounds are open is over.

They servers should keep merging to populate. Trying to come up with a solution because a lot of people, including myself, aren’t happy with the current state of the battleground. We should all be put in our current cr, p lvls and lvl category for a fair but challenging and fun fight. Not just one sided. I do want to state that I am not whining. Just want to throw that out there. I’ve gotten nights where I win all night. But I listen the majority of the peoples voices.

There won’t be any solution because there won’t be enough low-level players to play BG.

Your only “solution” here is to quickly level up to the 1000+ paragon before even bothering to play BG. Even if you insist on playing BG with your low paragon character, then your only option is to play support/crowd control build to support your teammate.

That’s not a solution. That’s not an option. I believe that even at such a level it is still worth it playing agaisn’t that of your own likeness. Even at 1000+ players should still be assigned to their own category regardless of time. Fair is fair and equal is equal.

That is solution because how the matchmaking going to create a balance team if there isn’t enough low level players to queue? Either you joined high level party and support or queue for 2 hours and find no match.

I have a high belief people would much rather be in que longer to get matched properly then to have an aweful gaming experience.

Might as well use the time to level your character to P1000 ASAP than queuing 2 hours for nothing.

And nope, i have playing many online multiplayer games where people rather play a match than no match for entire night. There is why many top players making smurf account when their main is unable to get a match due to high MMR and no others were closed to their MMR.

Wouldn’t it be better for all to be squished to all be in the same playing field?

You still get 3x BG daily rewards for losing or get squished.

You gets nothing because you can’t find the matches for whole day.

Again, quickly get to P1000 is the best solution here.

I meant squish everyones stats and gear so that everyone can play a fair game.

There is limited fair pvp event every week. Go to play that instead if you want a fair match.

What’s the best solution to get geared? Not everyone can pay for high cr.

The CR provided by the legendary gems is average at best. People generally don’t pay or buy CR.

It is always about gear farming. Plus, the CR bonus in BG is capped at 10%. So even if you have 1 CR or 20000 CR and your opponent has 30000 CR, their bonus is 10% against you.

In Battlegrounds, and all other PvP activities (such as Shadow War, Vigil of Blades, Rite of Exile), your Resonance matters much more than your Combat Rating. Resonance is gained by increasing the level of your legendary gems (5-star gems provide more than 2-star gems which provide more than 1-star gems, and higher ranks give more). Free-to-play players will most likely utilise 1-star and 2-star gems, at high ranks, as these are easier to level up than expensive 5-star gems.

The size of a players wings is an indication of how much resonance they have, as the first wings are obtained at 1000 resonance, and their size increases with each additional 1000 resonance gained. If you’re a fresh, low-resonance player in a Battleground, you’re going to have a hard time against players with 8K+ resonance.

I’ve played from day 1 of the servers going live in EU/US, am completely F2P, and have just over 1500 resonance. It’s not accidental that levelling up resonance without spending money on it is extremely slow. Blizzard made it that way precisely to encourage people to spend real life money on crests, to gamble for legendary gems, to upgrade their hero’s resonance.

Now that’s just sick. This is why i prefer wow. still however, this is wrong and it’s not giving the players any benefit.

Nowadays the BG matchmaking is doing a decent job of making both team has similar team reso and armor penetration stat, so it is rather balanced for both teams.

I can tell you that most of my BG losses were not because a whale from the opposite team wiped out everyone and won. It is the players. Most of them chose to chase for killing scores instead of doing map objectives such as ignoring the idol.

Just ensuring the overall total resonance of teams is roughly equal isn’t good enough though.
As a hypothetical example…

Team A
1 x 8K resonance player, 7 x 1K resonance players. Total team resonance = 15K res

Team B
4 x 3K resonance players, 4 x 1K resonance players. Total team resonance = 16K res

In simplistic terms, Team B has a 1K advantage in terms of overall team resonance over Team A. However, it’s incredibly unlikely that Team B would win. Why? Well, when the 1K players fight each other, those are fair / even fights, when the 3K players fight the 1K players, the 3K players win but when the 8K player fights anyone else, the 8K player wins. That one 8K player can absolutely turn a match on its head and the enemy team, unless they also have one, are just counting the time until they lose.

True but it is far better than those days where 8 whales vs 8 F2P players in BG.

Plus, 1 8k + 7 1k rarely happened. Not denying it won’t happened but the chance is slightly lower. Maybe one will encounter like 3 matches over 10 matches. Overall, current BG matchmaking is rather decent and fair… for most of the time.

Blizzard would like to pretend that a lion against four hamsters is equal just because when you add up resonance it comes out the same. I call BS on that.
