Is passive farming against the EULA?

I’ve run into a few people lately that tell me, I could get banned from standing still in the same spot for long, even though I’m not using any macros, third party software, controllers or “spooning” (didn’t know that term until someone hinted I was doing it (I’m not)).

Reading the EULA, neither myself or our AI overlord ChatGPT could say for sure if passive farming is a bannable offence, seems it’s very vague in describing these things, maybe on purpose so they can do whatever they want?

Basically I currently play as Necro with summons, find a good spot with decent respawn rate and plant myself there, while I work on another laptop next to it.
I chase the occasional goblin, run after elite and orange spawns when I see them, but other than that it’s minimal interaction, empty inventory now and then, help kill packs if needed, but overall the skeletons and pet takes care of trash mobs, without needing me to do anything. Sometimes my character will be killed by some persistent ground damage, with the message I was killed by myself, I can only assume these are game mechanics made to prevent afk’ing, and honestly I’m complete fine with them, these mechanics should be a lot more aggressive though, if they wanted people to not do this stuff.
I don’t do this 24/7, mostly during my workday so I’m always around, looking at the screen and interacting if people write me or need help in clan chat.

Personally I don’t see any issues with this since I’m not afk, just passive. It’s a slow grind and doesn’t compete with active playing by a mile, but every little bit counts in this “casual” mobile game.

If you really want to be sure just do fishing instead of afk farming. That’s what it is there for.

I used to do fishing, but after pets got released this methods is far superior.
Not to mention you actually get spirit and monstrous essences with passive farming. Fishing just isn’t worth the electricity used, they should really give it a massive boost imo.

Because people could report you even if the blizzard detection didn’t think you are “spooning” because it is really difficult to tell whether you are AFK farming or just “spooning” from an outside perspective.

Fishing is a way to store up XP.

Assuming 100% XP rate…

  • Handing in a legendary fish is worth approximately 150,000 XP
  • Handing in a mythic fish is worth approximately 500,000 XP

Let’s say that by Saturday / Sunday you’re at Server Paragon +13/+14. That means you’re currently earning XP at a 10% rate. When the Monday reset happens, and the server gains 10 paragon levels, you’ll be at Server Paragon +3/+4 which means you’ll be earning 60% XP.

You can hold up to 20 fish in your Inventory. So, you fish up 20 mythic fish on a Saturday / Sunday but you don’t hand them in until Monday morning after the reset. This will get you (20 * 500,000 * 0.6) = 6,000,000 XP. Each paragon level requires 3,500,000 XP so that means approximately 1.7 paragon levels you can store up.

To earn 1.7 paragon at 10% XP rate, e.g. by standing there farming whilst at server paragon +13, would require 60,000,000 XP.

Saddens me that player reports can lead to bans when there’s no cheating going on.
Imagine you play normally but have to drop the phone because of real life, and since phones never disconnect, so your character will just stay there in that spot until you come back, which can be awhile if you forget. Players report you and you get banned… sounds like a retarded system, but guessing a ban like that would/should be reverted on contact with support

I sent tons of videos and screenshots. I sent everything that people confessed, the conversations that people confessed, the accidental writing of macros in the clan chat. But they didn’t give any answer, they didn’t do anything. They let the game die. Everyone stopped spending money.
