Blizzard, Netease, are you aware that these days, users are meaninglessly running the Vault 1st floor 10 times every day just for activity points of Deeds of Valor?
Even though there is no significant reward, they keep doing that.
This has become like a trend, and since activity points are relative evaluation, the competition for activity points has become even more intense.
The situation has gone in a direction where everyone wastes time to get higher points than others.
Because of this, the 4th floor of the Vault, which originally had few people, now has even fewer visitors.
Therefore, I suggest:
Please make the activity points for one run of the 4th floor much more attractive than the total sum of activity points from ten runs of the 1st floor.
Make the activity points for floors 1, 2, and 3 very small, and the 4th floor’s points much bigger.
The purpose of this suggestion is to reduce unnecessary competition (repetitive work) and to revitalize the 4th floor.
I am curious to see how people will behave if this change is made.
(1 year… 100th suggestion… haha)
Each Vault raid done grants 10 points towards the Activity section of a Shadow’s Deeds of Valour, regardless of how many floors they visit. As there’s no cooldown between raids any more, this means they can do 10, 1st floor raids very rapidly for 100 activity points each day, Monday to Saturday, getting them 600 activity a week.
However, it’s not the only reason they do it. Each time a Shadow raids the vault, regardless of how many floors they visit, regardless of whether they leave without fighting, fight and escape, or they get killed by the Immortals, they also get 15 Battle Pass points.
Entering the vault, clearing floor 1, and then leaving can take as little as 20 seconds. If you pre-form a group, you can do this back-to-back, meaning you can do 10 runs like this in 200 seconds, i.e. in 3 minutes 20 seconds your party all gain 150 Battle Pass points. Doing that Monday to Saturday means that for a total of 20 minutes spent, you earn 900 Battle Pass points. That’s, quite literally, the single most efficient BP obtained for time spent, that exists in the game.
As for the Activity, here’s mine from the previous reign…
For Shadows, getting Exceptional for Activity means you need to be in the top 1-5%. That’s obviously a moving target, based on what other players are doing. However, to give an idea of the sort of range that can be, there were Shadows in the same reign as my screenshot above that got Exceptional with 5.5-6K activity. That means they could have completely ignored this Vault method and still got their 12% badge.
Activity 10340… You play the game hard no less than I do.
Seems like you like this method, huh?
We didn’t use to do this before. We used to be fine without doing 10 Vault runs a day. At some point, it became a trend.
Inflation of activity points has occurred.
I usually do 5 or 6 full 4-floor Vault runs per week, just to reach 350/350 and 0/40.
Until recently, even just doing that was enough to achieve ‘Exceptional’. But now I only get ‘Very Good’.
Maybe on your server you can still completely ignore this Vault method and reach ‘Exceptional’, but on my server, that’s not the case. I think it might be slightly different from server to server.
.
It’s a simple and easy method. But to me, it just feels like a meaningless waste of time.
One of the ways could be to change activity points from a relative evaluation to an absolute evaluation.
.
I think you’re talking about Warband activity points.
That’s not what I was referring to.
.
Wow… Only 1 Blessed Reign (7 weeks) left until you get the final cloak?
I envy you.
I am surprised how much things I still discover in this game… amazed by short cuts some players prefer to use to gain a competitive advantage.
Simple fix for this would be to grant Activity Points for Vaults only if Immortals are challenged during the raid. Maybe giving more than 10 points per fight to foster it.
I’m doing pretty well as an Immortal too…
…even without the Shadows’ method of acquiring Activity. A lot of this comes from Battleground matches. They give 10 points each too, I believe.
On a Monday, I’ll be doing Floor 4 runs until I cap out on the 40 chests, then finish the remainder of the 10 daily runs as Floor 1’s. On other days, I’ll do a couple of Floor 4 runs (so they Immortals still get a chance to earn their hilts / gold / BP too) then do the remainder of the daily cap as Floor 1’s.
The reason for doing this is not just the Activity this gets for your Deeds, it’s also an extremely quick method of gaining Battle Pass points. You can earn 150 BP points for under 5 minutes spent. Even if you were speed-running dungeons, and you could manage to do Silent Monastery three times in 5 minutes, that’d still only earn you 75 BP points, i.e. 50% of this method.
This isn’t just about the Deeds Activity, it’s about the BP points and, as such, 900 BP points for around 20 minutes spent sounds like an extremely efficient use of time to me.
