Infernal Trials - Vanguard Tasks - How do players complete them when Vanguard is unavailable now?

So, yesterday (Wednesday, 11th June) we got new sets of weekly tasks in the Infernal Trials event.
This included six tasks for Vanguard

I hope you all actually did them yesterday…

Because today, Thursday 12th June, Vanguard Season 3 ended and when you go to the portal, this happens…

Vanguard Season 4 doesn’t start until Monday, 19th June.

So, how does Blizzard expect players to complete this week’s tasks if they didn’t do them yesterday?

You basically gave everyone tasks that are now uncompletable due to Vanguard ending.

When i saw the number of run required to kill 500, i gave up… 3 runs for barrely the 100 first kills  did not bother to finish even the 30 elites one.

The “secret” to this task was to do it on Elite (130%) and to concentrate on killing the small mobs, not the glade boss, so that you got as many adds spawned as possible. Using this method, the group I was in yesterday got around 70-80 kills per run so it took us 6 or 7 runs to get the 500 kills. The 30 elites task was done in the first run.

Well, it’s a good thing I completed this yesterday. I generally don’t do any Vanguard as I don’t like it in general so I would’ve missed this little detail.

This definitely is a massive design oversight on Blizzard’s part.

I‘m not sure if this is really an issue right now, because the Vanguard tasks don’t have a time limit like the weekly tasks or Trial Of the Hordes.
The new Vanguard season starts on the 19th of June, so I guess the tasks can be completed next week.
Of course this could be wrong and with the weekly reset, the Vanguard tasks will also reset (can’t remember how this was done in the last events), so we’ll miss out on some of the points. But I‘ve got the opportunity to check this out. Because I didn’t pay attention to the looming end of the season, I just randomly did the task for clearing 1 level 3 run and wanted to do the rest today, because of the 5 runs with rewards.

Whether this can be completed again starting on the 19th or not, this still is a massive fail. Stuff like this should never happen.

Sadly I didn’t because I don’t realize that VG season ends today. :frowning:

Hope I can still complete it in the upcoming season.

What the heck? I just came here to report the same. Why is there a new goal that shows up Wed for an event that resets Thurs and then closes Wed? No one had a chance to do these.

As you can see from my opening post’s screenshots, it was possible to do these on Wednesday, when the tasks first became available. Then, on Thursday, the Vanguard season ended. So, anyone that didn’t do them on Wednesday will need to wait until Thursday 19th, when the next Vanguard season starts.

The purpose of the thread was to demonstrate that Blizzard literally didn’t know, or didn’t care, that they gave players tasks that they’d be incapable of completing for a week, because they didn’t bother to check a calendar.

I think they don’t care because they probably think the players can still complete it in the next VG season launch, so no reason for them to overreact or working OT to fix it.

They didn’t even care enough to have the right release dates showing on the Threefold Rebirth event boss fights either. The dates the screen said they’d release were all one day prior to the day they actually released. It’s a complete lack of even basic testing / quality control that extends to them not even checking a calendar.
