Hopefully there is a plan for either new item upgrade and helliquary levels next season? Or some new system that makes use of these materials?
Some of us have been capped at the level 30 for our main items for a while now. And this season allows capping our set items at 20, I saw someone today who already is. Even players who have received no season reward crystals this whole time should be able to cap by like cr360, ie first day of next season.
In addition to item upgrades, we also have capped helliquaries at level 70 and are piling up voidblood.
It’d be nice to have a use for all these materials piling (or soon to be piling) up. At minimum I’d like to see more levels added, if not something cooler and better scaling.
If adding more levels, I realize this would be a serious climb for new players, so would suggest decreasing the amount lower levels cost. Also, +10-20cr isn’t nearly as impactful as it used to be, so new levels really need to be like 40cr+ going forward.
The only possible way to add new gear/hq levels without massively sht on newer players is to squish existing levels by a huge amount and introduce a new material with a conversion rate so high that even players with 100k dust wouldn’t be able to gain more than 2-3 levels.
Yeah, that’s what my assumption would be, if new levels. The low cr gains don’t give as much impact, so no real worry of compressing steps for new players. And I’d fully expect another material tier with a terrible conversion rate similar to last time so those of us with giant stockpiles get a little benefit, but not much.
But right now there’s a lot of material collection in the game that is essentially pointless so I really hope they are planning something…
I’ve had all of my legendaries at Rank 30 since January. As a result of having nothing to spend materials on, I currently have 1.2 million scraps and 120K dusts. I’d be fine with them having a conversion ratio into new materials that ate all of these up for the first couple of 30+ rank levels.
They made new mats, that’s right but they didn’t squish the existing levels. Without that it’s not very helpful as newer players are still far behind levels unless they spend crazy times to farm mats.
Well, they didn’t help newcomers that much when they raised gear rank from 20 to 30 (I think), so I don’t think there will be any difference in the next update cap.
Yep. New players get such massive xp bonuses that leveling isn’t a problem, but then they have to get carries thru every single raid unlock and all raids going forward.
If it were me, I’d probably rescale upgrade costs down such that new players essentially start gear at lvl 20 and all players currently stuck in the mid20s grind get bumped to 29-30. Then the new levels could cost such that those of us with stockpiles of old mats can get a couple 31s. That’d reduce the upgrade level discrepancy down and give us something to farm for again.
I saw that the CR season is ending next week. Most people are only a few rifts short of all 20s cap, I really hope there is some plan for new levels, new materials, and/or new uses?..
A suggestion for a material burn is give a way to reroll set items. Whether keep the stats and change the set, keep the set and reroll stats, or reroll the gem sockets.
So do I, but then I remember that my legendaries have also been rank 30 for almost a year at this point and I have over a million scraps. It’s not just set / legendary item ranks that have capped out either, my Helliquary has been Level 70 for months now too, with nothing to spend voidblood slag on.
