Familiars transformation

The new familiar update has inaccurate, misleading descriptions of all processes. I used “transformation” for 3 rare(yellow color) familiars, where each had a gold skill and traits (actively giving a passive skill to the character if the familiar is equipped or is in the stables) after the transformation I got a regular familiar without gold skills, but with traits but they are blocked because he is common(blue color) I believed that I would get anyone, but not lower than those I would upload, namely one rare one who would definitely have at least all the traits from one and with a possible chance an additional trait from others (multiplier). I also expected that there would be a 30% chance of getting an aberrant familiar and a 10% chance of getting a legendary property for disassembling items or similar, but in the end I reduced the cost of the game resource by 10 times by performing the conversion. Since a common familiar is useless, it does not provide passive skills and it has lost any gold skills. What is the point of launching such an update with such a crooked description that essentially does something completely different and people lose their gaming values?
I lost ~$50 in platinum equivalent. I use the client in Russian, and the description is quite meager and ambiguous, taking into account the value of such transformations themselves. Why then is conversion available for rare ones at all if you can get the most common ones from them? If in this case, you can use сommon(white) ones, which are 3-4 times cheaper? It’s a very demoralizing situation, I don’t want to play at all after this.

similar situation, no explanation that after converting 3 yellow familiars, it is possible to get a familiar of worse quality than before, a real scam

I just started playing Diablo Immortal again, and purchased the collectors battle pass to level up my newly acquired familiars, which I did to max level 30. Switching Familiars is not clear in DI, but I figured it out. Managing and upgrading Familiars is not very clear in DI.

This should not be so complicated. So far, what I am reading about familiars seems a bit shady and screwed up. This familiar add on in this Diablo Immortal game is very confusing. It’s so ridiculous! This should NOT be so damn complicated! PLEASE, improve, fix and make things MORE CLEAR for all players with Diablo Immortal, Blizzard! I hope this works out for all players.

Also, why do cosmetics only unlock for one character in one account with several characters? That’s a pretty lame and greedy move, Blizzard! There are no such restrictions on any other Blizzard game except this one! That is just awful and pretty damn low, Blizzard! - JJ -

There is good news from this, I have lost the desire to play this game, where I have no control over anything and the valuables that I have been collecting for a long time can be destroyed in a moment.

It is a lil bit of a wonky system to get used to, but I generally enjoy the pets.
However- I had an issue with converting pets as well. Yesterday I converted 3 aberrants using conversion stones, so the familiar rarity shouldn’t have dropped below highest rarity monster. Yet my outcome was magic and not rare quality. Sent in a ticket but haven’t heard anything as of yet.

Are you saying that if you meld and upgrade a Familiar it can become a less quality Familiar pet? That must be a BIG mistake or bug, and if not, Blizzard and NetEase need to fix and address this ASAP! That does not sound right at all! I hope this gets addressed for all players soon!

Melding is pointless in the long run. But yes, if you don’t want the rarity of your familiar to decrease, you need to use conversion stones.
If you don’t use conversion stones, the skills and rarity are more random.

Yeah, that’s generally what gambling ends up doing.

It would be useful if BLIZZARD / NetEase published the math for each task - i.e. Melding and Converting.

Meldling ‘seems’ to only be useful if you have no intention of replacing the familiar you favour. It does seem to marginally increase the stats and unlike converting, you do have a choice of what to keep.

RNG is RNG and I am ok with that. Even in a Casino, most people are aware of the odds. So far, nobody seems to know the % RNG odds in conversion. If I was to hazard a guess, it would be like primals in D3… less than, or around 1%

1/7/2024:

I just did two melds on my Familiar Companion and NO change, No upgrade, No nothing! What the heck is this BS? I just wasted 120 Spirt Essence to upgrade my Familiar Companion and no upgrade happened, TWICE! This is so messed up for all players experiencing this issue.

I used up 2 Familiars to MELD my main Familiar and ZERO upgrade! Nothing happens! I wont waste anymore time on this bugged part of the game!

Hey Blizzard / NetEase! FIX this bug issue! Why are Familiar Companions NOT upgrading after MELD is done!??! PLEASE FIX THIS! I wasted 120 Spirit Essence for NOTHING! This is clearly bugged! So frustrating and disappointing when things like this happen in the game! - JJ -

Converting can be worse. The only modicum of safety I found in converting its to use either 3 greys together, 3 blues together or 3 yellow rares to convert.

HOWEVER - The one part that is WRONG is it is fine not to get something better or no difference but it should NEVER get worse than what you have. I had one experience where three yellows converted and lost ALL of their traits. Not one was even available. That is truly BAD RNG. The worst kind.

LAST - If you get one with a salvage trait even if it’s skills are crap, keep it, do nothing with it. Just use it for farming.

Update: 1/7/2024

Thank you for your feedback, but this issue NEEDS to be fixed and addressed by Blizzard and NetEase. They need to fix this messy, confusing bug problem with Familiar Companion melds and upgrades. It is clearly BROKEN.

While I have been enjoying the game, I won’t waste anymore time or resources on Familiar Companions until Blizzard and NetEase fix this issue. I paid for Battle Pass and purchased many in-game items to further enjoy my gaming experience for four (4) of my characters in the game, and I expect the game to work as intended, not be so damn broken!

On another note, I experienced a very weird bug in Diablo Immortal earlier this morning while playing in the Southern Dreadlands doing Bounties with my main Necromancer character. The weirdest thing happened. Something I never saw happen in any Diablo game or any game for that matter.

I was in the middle of battling some monsters and all of sudden as I am attacking I noticed my character’s hands were moving back and forth but not releasing the actual special effects of my usual attack skills and powers to hit the monsters. I was like what the hell?

I kept using my standard attack skills and other attack skills, but nothing was coming from my hero character. All you can see was my character’s hands going back and forth like he was exercising or something… it was funny lol. Nothing was coming out of his hands as it usually does when using my attack skills to attack enemies / monsters in the game. It was funny and weird, but mostly frustrating after realizing it is clearly a bug in the game.

Even the monsters health was not changing as my hands were moving, and no skill power of my attacks were visible or coming from my character as I tried to attack the monsters that were attacking my character. It’s like all my skills and powers stopped working while my character’s hands were moving back and forth, and you can hear the sound effects in the game from my attacks and skill powers, but nothing was working or showing as it should on my character’s end. This is something I never saw happen in any game I ever played. I never saw any Blizzard game have that kind of bug problem. That is NOT good.

Soon after, I logged off and logged back into the game, and my skill powers on my character (Necromancer) worked normally again.

Random Crashes In The Game:
Then there are these random crashes where the game just suddenly closes without any warning whatsoever. Not even a crash notice. Diablo Immortal just randomly closes and crashes for no reason in the middle of game play.

So far, these are the three (3) bug issues I have experienced in Diablo Immortal since playing the game again, and they need to be fixed by Blizzard / NetEase asap! It’s messed up when these things happen in the game for any player, and it is very disappointing to say the least. I hope Blizzard and NetEase fix and improve the game sooner than later, because these problems are not acceptable, especially if I am PAYING for this game, as other players spend money on this game as well!

I don’t mind supporting any game I enjoy, and I don’t expect perfection either, but these problems and bugs in the game I just mentioned should NOT be happening in Diablo Immortal or any game where players are paying for in-game items, features and services.

I am going to initiate a Repair Client on the game and hopefully that will help, but I am going to share this with Blizzard / NetEase in the Bug forum and hope they fix it on their end, permanently! These issues should NOT be happening in the game. - Cheers! - JJ -

Log a bug report. If they do not know it can happen again and maybe to others  In fact, if it has happened to others, they will post on the bug report.

I just reported the bug issues and problems to Blizzard / NetEase. I hope they fix these bug issues and problems soon, because they should NOT be happening in Diablo Immortal or any game where players are paying for in-game items and services. - Cheers! - JJ -
