Someone explain how to improve familiars so as not to spend a lot of platinum or money. and how to get a legendary familiar (third form)? I transformed three aberrant familiars, but got a rare one (second form) and only one legendary property, and it’s not active.

The Familiar companion issues are beyond confusing, punishing and a total rip off scam, unfortunately, and Blizzard / NetEase know this. Yet, they have failed to fix, improve and address anything relating to Familiar companions in the game.
Here are some Familiar Companion tips and suggestions that can help you - sharing from my own experience in Diablo Immortal:
Patience is key, Each week when doing quests and bounties, etc., you earn points to buy up to 3 Familiars a week. They cost 10K gold each. You also need to do some grinding to earn Spirit Essence to level up your Familiars to max level 30.
Then, after leveling up a blue Familiar to max level 30 with some rare skills, see how much they can sell for in the AH market and sell them until you save up to 50K plus silver.
Then, you can easily buy Rare Familiars with 3 to 4 rare skills. Also, be sure to get Familiars with at least 2 Traits that are Rare not blue, and they can cost between 8k silver to 40K silver and more. Rare Familiars with rare skills and high attributes enable beneficial Traits for players in the game.
- This is something Blizzard / NetEase has failed to explain or share with players about Familiar companions, for whatever reason. Diablo Immortal’s lack of description and information in the game and in-game items is just awful and deceptive, as most players already know.
Either way, just start out with what you have now, until you get your first Rare Familiar companion which normally has one or more skills and traits. And, over time save up to buy the higher tier Rare or higher Familiars and unlock the bond boxes too. I have 2 bond boxes unlocked, and that is more than enough. You don’t really need 4 to 5 unlocked, aside from the fact that the prices to unlock the 4th and 5th pet bond slot is outrageous and ridiculous, considering the poor gold earning in the game. It’s terrible!
This is the best way to get what you need instead of taking a ridiculous and punishing risk of converting Familiars and possibly getting a downgrade, which is so damn shady, misleading and messed up to do to players who pay, play and support this game, Diablo Immortal!
And as to why Blizzard / NetEase pulled this scammy BS on players and having Familiars leveling be such a complex and confusing issue for players is beyond wrong! Diablo Immortal players would expect to at least get an upgrade after converting 3 Familiars to get one good one, not get a damn downgrade!
But the worst part is you need a conversion stone to keep your rare skills etc., but that costs real money, or sacrificing a max level 30 familiar with a rare skill to get a conversion stone, and still no guarantee you will get a better Familiar companion! It’s really messed up, and very confusing and shameful how this Familiar system works in the game. It is just bad for all players in Diablo Immortal, and it needs to be revamped and seriously improved for all players.
I learned this the hard way and wasted over 1k in spirit essence with no upgrade or good results doing meld and converting 3 Familiars to get maybe one good Familiar, which is awful! If the risk was to lose 3 Familiar companions to get one better Familiar than it is worth it, but downgrading is the worst and most unrewarding idea ever put into a game, and Diablo Immortal companion system in the game is the absolute worst! Very disappointing!
I eventually got some good Familiars and sold them, and then I purchased the good Rare Familiars I wanted, and now I have 3 good rare Familiars in all 3 pet slots - the main companion slot and the 2 bond slots. That is all I recommend for all players in Diablo Immortal, unless you are okay with spending 2 million gold lol, which is absolutely outrageous to unlock bond slot 3 and 5 million to unlock bond slot 4.
Complex, insanity, and shady greed is all I see in this confusing game mechanic for Familiar companions. I can care less to ever spend 2 million gold on pet bond slot 3, even if I have 20 million gold! The price is not only too damn high, but a total rip off in Diablo Immortal. Not worth it at all!
Blizzard / NetEase should definitely lower the gold prices for the last 2 pet bond slots in the game for Familiar companions, or significantly increase the Gold earning and rewards for all players to balance the gold deficiency in Diablo Immortal, big time!
My suggestion is to keep it simple as I mentioned in this reply comment. Save up silver until you can start buying Rare Familiar companions and above, which have high attributes that unlock traits for the player. Blue Familiars do NOT unlock Traits and you have to risk losing other Familiars and resources to maybe get an upgrade. It’s NOT worth it.
I hope this info I shared helps you in your game journey with Diablo Immortal and the shady, confusing and complex Familiar companion mechanics and leveling in the game. - Cheers - JJ -
PS - Let’s hope Blizzard / NetEase actually do something about the awful, confusing and complex Familiar leveling in the game and fix, improve and make it simple for all players, because it is just terrible and very confusing, and for players who don’t know about Familiars in the game or how to level them, they risk getting scammed and screwed over as many players already have, thanks to Blizzard / NetEase not being clear about the leveling process, and the awful truth of risking a downgrade after converting 3 Familiars… it’s just bad and not worth wasting time or risking it. It’s better to sell and save, and buy Rare Familiars with good skills that actually enable beneficial Traits for players in the game. That is the only solution I found that works best without getting screwed over by the confusing, complex and punishing game mechanics for Familiar companions in Diablo Immortal! - Blizzard / NetEase can do better! -
