Wanted to know what people’s thoughts on our class’s viable builds, since I have been maintaining an unofficial guide on the Diablo Immortal discord.

The two primary builds that I have been advocating for are the Lacerate / HotA Control Build and the Frenzy / Oustlak Build. I find the Frenzy build particularly appealing because it seems like more players are gearing up to counter HotA control, making the HoTA build harder to control the field effectively. The Frenzy build relies on exploiting the Gloomcask gem’s power with Oustlak, creating a firestorm of destruction to return the gem back to its former power. Both have their downsides, and I keep looking for more options.

I haven’t come across many promising ones, especially since the original whirlwind meta has faded away. Our single-target DPS with Whirlwind has suffered due to the lack of strong main hand synergy like we have with Lacerate/Frenzy and the absence of crowd control protection during channeling, makes channeling a risky choice for more AoE damage

Times are tough for the barbarian build, but at least we aren’t the demon hunter class, eh? What are your thoughts?

Builds:
Frenzy Variant

  • Required Skills: Frenzy, Wraith of the Berserker, Furious Charge, Undying Rage, Sprint
  • Required Legendaries: Riddlerue / Lunatic Twin (Main Hand), Oncoming Brutality / Sundered Legacy (Offhand), Screaming Fury (Pants), Tracker’s Rage or Widow in the Making (Armor), Brace of Ancestors, Ancestor’s Stele or Oustlak Helmet (Helm), Nature’s Temper (Shoulder)
  • Recommended Supporting Sets: 4 Piece Vithu’s Urges Set / 2 Piece Banquet

Lacerate Variant

  • Required Skills: Lacerate, Wraith of the Berserker, Hammer of the Ancient, Undying Rage, Furious Charge
  • Required Legendaries: Ardent Fervor / Rending Bite (Main Hand), Breaker’s Wheel or Beggar’s Mallet / Sundered Legacy (Offhand), Screaming Fury (Pants), Truss of Stolen Skin (Armor), Brace of Ancestors, Grinning Effigy or Oustlak Helmet (Helm) (Helm), Nature’s Temper (Shoulders)
  • Recommended Supporting Sets: 4 Piece Vithu’s Urges Set / 2 Piece Banquet

Almost totally agree on your builds. Just a couple off suggestions from my point of view:

  1. Frenzy build: If you don’t have access to Gloom Cask Frenzy build looses a good amount of performance and I don’t recommend using it. It should be considered a must have with this build in my opinion.

  2. Lacerate build: Despite HoTA gives you a long lasting attack speed buff and a ranged source of damage, Sprint it’s too good to pass it up, specifically when talking about BGs. Not as much in Vaults or Shadow War.
