First of all I wanted to say hi to the community and introduce myself in one sentence. I’m a big fan of Diablo franchise from the beggining - I love the first two games as well as the next ones that took different gameplay aproach. Now getting to the merits.
Diablo Immortal has a lot of bugs. I understand that adding new content, balancing classes and doing fixes asap while trying to have a life is not an easy task. Regardles one can find bugs by just playing the game and players do their job by squishing them. Can we have a little something (e.g. in-game currency) for our efford to report them (becouse that’s the game testers job right)?
Also, one more thing. Shoulden’t there be an easy way to add a screenshot to a bug report?
Thank you Meteorblade but I meant an easy, official way to do it, not workaround. The question was directed mainly to devs (my bad - maybe I should have add this info).
I don’t hang out on the forum, I just report bugs. I don’t feel obliged to gain more trust levels. From my perspective it looks like this:
I find a bug
I click support (in-game)
Game asks me to do it via forum
I go there, start a new topic and give all the information requested.
I try to find „add photo” button becouse in some cases it would be easer to describe a problem.
I can’t find one
I go to Photobucket (for e.g.) and back to the forum
I get info that I can’t use hyperlinks
That’s all.
Maybe there should be an easy way to send a screenshot to Diablo Immortal team directly (becouse as I understand there are afraid of new users).
Thanks for your time.
PS. The first part of the topic (reporting bugs and getting reward for the job) is much more interesting in my opinion.
He just posted instructions on how to submit photos. This is how it is done. A Dev won’t comment on here but a community manager would say the exact same thing.
Devs won’t comment? Ok, no prob but I hope that they at least read threads? After all there are bug reports here - as they wish. If not then I’m (and others) just wasting time.
The devs themselves really don’t read the forums. That’s the Community Managers’ job. The CMs read the threads, including the bug reports, compile all the info and deliver that to the devs.
A long time ago, there used to be an actual game tester job, unfortunately this has gone by the wayside. Gaming companies now rely on the players to do this job, saving them lots of money in salaries, benefits, etc.
Blizzard and Diablo Immortal is a perfect example of this since they used what they called an “open beta” where all the players were “game testers”.
Every bug fix and update is from player input, not from any in-house game testing.
Their thinking and every other gaming company is why spend money if we don’t have to. Every game corporation uses a “cost/benefit” analysis on bugs and players issues. If there is enough complaints that it could affect their profit, then they do something, otherwise forget about it.
Word. 100% agreed. I wanted to spark a discussion on the subject becouse as you said - enough complains = companys may take action. I thing that we as gamers should say NO (with a big exclamation mark) to that kind of practises. Don’t play betas,
don’t preorder games, don’t buy things like horse armours
which company though? I feel majority of issues are due to NetEase and as long as they are making money they don’t seem to really care about much else. Blizz is just a figurehead in this case with their hands tied
