Current Gauntlets are being removed on 19th June

So, in-game email this morning warns of impending removal of current Gauntlets…

The Gauntlet portal also has a bright red ! button for information…

If we look at the Gauntlet portal, we see that the current season ends on 19th June…

The Inferno 6 Gauntlet has a 49315 Combat Rating requirement. There’s no way that F2P players have that CR and most low-mid spenders won’t either. This means, once again, unless CR values for the bosses are amended prior to these Gauntlets being removed, only whales (or people carried by them) can get the portal cosmetic.

So, folks, you have around a month to befriend 7 whales and ask them nicely to carry you.

It’s not only the Combat Rating, but the insane amount of DPS and Invulnerability needed to get this done.
On our Leaderboards only 1 group (with some of the biggest whales) cleared the Inferno 6 Gauntlet and it took them 30 Minutes. This means they had to survive the enraged phase of the last boss for quite some time. I can’t imagine that a lot of people will get the Portal cosmetic, before the season ends…

Took a look at the Inferno 6 Gauntlet Leaderboard on the server I’m on…

  • 8 players with 5/5 bosses - 18 min 34 sec
  • 1 player with 2/5 bosses - 8 min 55 sec
  • 2 players with 1/5 bosses - 2 min 51 sec
  • 7 players with 1/5 bosses - 4 min 04 sec

All 8 of the players that cleared it had more than enough CR, with a few of the raid having around 50,000 CR.

I’m around 600 CR too low. :frowning:

Well, I have the CR and have had it for every highest Gauntlet so far, but never beat it, not even the ones that carried over two seasons.

It’s one of the few PvE challenges reserved only for whales, just like every season’s highest challenge rifts.

I assume not every whale has a need to shove it up people’s faces in PvP, so some other incentive for them to spend is necessary.

Hmm… I have the CR49,300 and still I have a month.
I assume we need CR around 50,000 or so for that difficulty.
I’ll do my best and once I will surpass the INF6 gauntlet also I will help my friends as much as I can in our server. :+1:
But It’s OK when I would not be able to do that. Yes, I want the portal cosmetic though.

The thing is that higher CR doesn’t really help you in Gauntlet. No matter how high your CR is, it can only give you 11% damage bonus at best. That can never compensate the damage you gain from high resonance.

Yeah so many focus on CR only and wonder why it’s so hard. It’s way more than just that. It’s DPS, it’s party composition, secondaries and communication.

I hope my whale clanmates will organize another charity G5 run for peasants like me.

That has no effect on gold or scrap at all

That was mentioned in the Chinese update note.
From now on, it would be good to look at the Chinese update notes along with the US ones.

From now on… NOT.

From the beginning, Blizzard should have made sure that whenever they post News updates, the information they provide is accurate and COMPLETE.

Anything other than that is just lazyness or incompetence on their side. Players (customers, if you prefer it) should NOT have to be searching for sources in different languages to find out what was REALLY changed after an update.

While they did lower the CR requirements, the last Inferno 6 boss does NOT scale depending on the numbers of players in the raid and has always the health for a full 8-player raid.
I can’t remember if this was always the case for the last boss before a new set of difficulties was introduced before and then changed later. But checking all the other difficulties, for each one of them from Normal to Inferno 5 the boss shows 1-8 players, while Inferno 6 shows 8 players.

I think it always was for the “end boss”, i.e. the 5th boss of the hardest available difficulty.

All but the hardest boss are marked as 1-8 players, i.e. their HP / damage output scale directly to the number of players that enter the raid, which is why they have way less HP if you solo them.

The 5th boss of the hardest difficulty is marked as 8 players, i.e. their HP damage output is rated as if you entered with 8 players, regardless of how many of you entered the raid.

Gauntlets are always marked as 8 player, never 1-8, regardless of which difficulty, i.e. if you’re going to try and do a Gauntlet with less than 8 players, you need to know that you’re essentially going to have to be capable of doing 8 players’ worth of damage with however many players you go in with.

Ok, then I simply don’t remember that and when the new set of difficulties is introduced, it will probably be changed. Thx

I agree as well.
What I tried to say is that the reality we are facing is current situation, so until the situation we want comes, try to do it this way (looking at both notes together).
But after I posted about looking at both notes together, I saw Meteorblade’s post on another thread, and he was already looking at the Chinese notes too. If he(or some other people) is already doing it like I say, that’s enough.

And I am really grateful that someone took the time to find these Chinese patch notes, translated them and let us know about the differences. But this is not the first time that someone has to play “find the 10 differences” between the Chinese and English patch notes. There should be none to be found. Lazyness or incompetence.

I think you see me as pointing him out because you saw me having a lot of intense discussions with him.
If seen negatively, it’s pointing out.
If seen positively, it’s informing. (about that looking at the Chinese update notes together can be helpful.)
I also view positively the fact that he actively participates in this forum and informs information to people.

Not negatively at all… I’m really glad that someone, whoever it may be, takes the time and effort to find other sources, see the differences and post them on the forums for those of us that lack the ability (or will ) to find them ourselves.

My “negativity” only goes towards Blizzard, because if they did their job, the above should not be necessary.
