you are only guaranteed a drop per 40 of each, so if you ran a combo of both you prob never hit the trigger
This comes up so often that I wish Blizzard would just put a tracker into the game so people could see how many of each crest type they’ve used without a 5-star gem drop. Anyway, the information is available in-game, by clicking on the “i” at the top of the Elder Rift portal screen…
For every 50 legendary crests used, you are guaranteed a bound 5-star gem.
For every 50 eternal legendary crests used, you are guaranteed an unbound 5-star gem.
The counters for the two crest types are separate, i.e. if you used 30 eternal legendary crest and 20 legendary crests, you wouldn’t hit either of these guarantee counters, even though you’d used a total of 50 crests.
Even if they had all been the same type, you wouldn’t have reached the guaranteed drop.
As they were a mix of both types, you’re not close to either pity counter.
No, the guarantee is at 50.

Right so yeah not even close if they did just one type. Yeah I agree a counter would be an amazing QOL plus might actually get people to buy more crests
This is the furthest from accurate I can provide multiple screenshots to prove that even after one year of playing and so many crest I still do not have a four or five star
That’s the nature of luck. There are players who’ve run like 10 crests total and already have a 5/5 gem and others after 2000 crests who don’t have.
For every crest used, you have a 4.5% chance that a 5-star gem will drop.
When a 5-star gem drops, there’s a 1% chance it is Quality 5.
Thus, the chance that a crest will generate a 5-star Quality 5 gem is 1% of 4.55, i.e. 0.01 * 0.045 = 0.00045
That is approximately 1 in 2222.
The chances of this are truly tiny.
