It is absolutely necessary to add limit on the amount of players with one class in BG. If you can’t make proper matchmaking, then at least this can’t be so hard.
How is a normal (reasonably spending) person supposed to fight against:
6 crusaders with emergency CoL regardless of it’s proper cooldown?
5 wizards with instant pull which creates impassable terrain?
4 monks with dash-preventing slow bubble with range beyond it’s visual effect?
4 necros with fear that lasts forever and pillars they can hide in from being attacked?
4 invulnerable BKs with stun that triggers BEFORE the skill animation even starts?
4 primary-attack stunlocking barbs (diminishing returns on cc? don’t be silly), immune to cc themselves?
Those were a few examples from my last 10 BG matches.
So please, 2 of each class max. Let us play some fair matches at last.
The reason why they didn’t limit the class to BG is for a quicker match-up.
I mean, for example, what if there is only 1 crusader queueing BG at that time you queue? The match won’t be able to start because the game can’t find 2 Crusaders queuing BG at that time.
This means that two would be the maximum number of each class that could join a match.
No minimum was mentioned so 0, 1 or 2 crusaders could join just fine.
Sure but what if there are 8 crusaders + 8 monks and no other classes to queue at that time? The game won’t start either. What if the system can find enough classes to queue but one or 2 classes have lower reso and AP than others, thus the game unable to create a well-balanced team?
The reason why they don’t put so many restrictions on matchmaking is to prevent long queues for the mode that has a 2-hour time limit.
With 7 classes in the game, I believe this is perfectly achievable without increasing queue times beyond reason. There used to be a time when queues could last close to 10 minutes (for me at least), and the game still managed to screw the matchmaking up incredibly well.
Crazy notion…
Stop Battlegrounds being put into two hour windows. Let people queue up for it any time they like. This would also address the nonsense of weekly Shadow tasks asking you to take part in a battleground and you having to wait multiple hours before can do so because you were given the task just after the battlegrounds closed.
I think the reason why they put 2 hours window is so they can force everyone to log in and queue BG in that specific window, thus easier for the matchmaking to form a game due to larger player pools queuing it.
So I can understand why they put a 2-hour window there.
