How do you upgrade skills in charms? The logical way would be through imbue. You know, chose the skill you want to upgrade in your equipped charm, run the lottery spin on the extracted 5 skills and if it lands on the same skill as the one you highlighted in your equipped charm, it upgrades it by 2%. That WOULD be logical. But if that happens, the game tells you " skill already existe" and nothing happens at all. Only that you wasted 500 platinum.
So…How DO you upgrade those blo9dy skills?
The only thing Blizzard loves more than RNG is multiple levels of RNG.
Okay, so let’s say you have a Barbarian charm with a 2% bonus to Frenzy. You obtain a Skill Stone where one of the skills on it is Frenzy. When you use the Skill Stone on your existing Charm, you select the skill that you want to replace / improve (Frenzy in this example) and then the first level of RNG happens, i.e. the system randomly selects one of the five skills from the Skill Stone. You have to hope that it randomly selects Frenzy, i.e. a 20% chance assuming each skill has the same chance of being selected. Now, assuming you got lucky with the 20% chance, and Frenzy gets selected, the 2nd level of RNG kicks in. The Skill has a chance to be any of these five values, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%, with increasingly tiny chances for the higher values. Unless the percentage rolled is higher than the value on your existing charm, the Skill Stone is wasted.
Essentially, trying to get the right skills on your charm and/or trying to get them to a high percentage bonus requires a combination of a huge amount of luck and platinum to buy skill stones from the Marketplace.
Do you have $5000 to spare,
Is there any way to see the value of the skills in the skill stone before you run the update process?
There isn’t a value in the skill stone. After a random skill is selected from the skill stone, it’s then random whether that skill rolls as 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%. It’s all random. If it wasn’t, and you could tell ahead of time, skill stones with 10% on them would sell for huge amounts of platinum. As they work currently, skill stones are like lottery tickets. You might get incredibly lucky and pick a winner but most of the time you’re just throwing your money away.
The charm upgrade wasn’t worth it. If you find a good charm with a popular skill for meta class, you should sell it at the marketplace as those whales will buy it. But then, the price for Skill Stone nowadays is pretty terrible. You would be lucky if your net profit is at least 400+platinum.
For me, if I got the skill stone with the skill suitable for my class, I would gamble upgrade it. If I get the skill stone that is not for my class but for a popular meta class, I will sell it.
Just don’t waste your hilts to buy charms if possible. It simply not worth IMO.
Only $5,000 for that ???
It would be at least that much for charms purchased, missed countless times, and re-spun a ridiculous number of times to get 10% on every stat.
I really do not like being that cynical and sarcastic, but 10% on everything is admirable and a hell of a lot of money to upgrade only one item.
Good morning,
I need my magic missile spell upgraded to 4%. I was lucky enough to finally get the correct spell to land on the spell I was trying to upgrade. It spent my skill stone and didn’t boost my selected spell that I was trying to upgrade. I reported in game and was sent here. Those are challenging enough as it is, so when you do get lucky enough to hit the lottery it should work as it’s supposed to.
