At what level do red crystals start dropping? I’m still getting yellow ones.
What to do with the excess yellow ones? Polite answers only plse.

Challenge Rifts 1-200 give the yellow crystals
Challenge Rifts 201-500 give the red crystals

The yellow crystals can be used to upgrade set items from Rank 1 to 10.
The red crystals can be used to upgrade set items from Rank 1 to 20.

Now then, assuming you have these options enabled…

…if you have leftover yellow crystals and are attempting to do a rank upgrade above 10 the yellow crystals will get used instead of red ones, but at a 20:1 ratio, i.e. if you had 200 yellow crystals left over, they would count as 10 red ones.

Sadly, if the number of yellow crystals you have left over isn’t a multiple of 20, you’re stuck with them as there’s no way to utilise them, or destroy them, which brings us to…

o I’ve got 25 red and 1420 yellow, and I have those checks set, and then I go to the upgrade and it says I have 58 red, which means that it’s translating the yellows at 43 each instead of 20, which would yield 96 reds. So something ain’t right.
OK, so now I checked in to the upgrade and it shows the 96. So I guess there’s some delay in here.

Charsi the blacksmith in Westmarch can convert yellow ones to red ones but only if the total amount of yellow ones you have is equal to or greater than the total cost in red ones for the upgrade you wish to make.

I other words she don’t accept partial payments. For the convert button to appear your amount of yellow ones must be enough, when converted to red, to fully pay for the upgrade

I just ran rifts 202-204 and got some red crystals, so you don’t have to wait until level 300.

Hmm, maybe they changed it then. 201+ gives red crystals.
Amended my original response accordingly.
