Challenge mode won’t make you stronger. It’s most likely you are weak in other points of the game. Ie helliquary, gear levels or legendary gems. Make sure as well to keep up on challenge rifts.
As someone who’s an officer in a server top clan, let me give you some advice when you’re ready to apply. First, level your character up to server paragon and then when the Rite of Exile turns, do everything to maximize your shadow rank. Run the Path of Blood as high as you can, do three contracts weekly, get all 40 vault chests weekly (which will also get you your 20 shadow tasks done), and do Assembly every day.
Even top clans will sometimes be willing to take in a newer player with low resonance if they show their willingness to do tasks that will help the clan.
Yes it’s true that I’m weak, but in the description it says that better and more gear will drop.
I try to do everything, but I’m a casual player.
Thx for replying.
P.S. - For some reason can’t post a reply to Mongojerry, getting always an error.
To Mongojerry
Thx a lot for your advice n’ tips.
Unfortunately in my server the clans aren’t that willing to help, so I’m stuck in Hell1 for now.
I’m hopeful that the dev team will add challenge mode, basically everything else is unlockable at Hell2.
Maybe next week update will bring something for me to improve.
There are some shortcuts too for any player including casual players.
I do not want spam that information because it would look like it because there is so much information on the web how to raise your XP, your combat rating (CR),which gems at various levels should be used, cooldown (CDR), Damage increasing (DMG,CHC,CHD), when to use events that double XP and Battlepass points, and more how to’s… so many that with less than half of them listed, this paragraph is already looking like spam…
May I suggest you google how to get stronger or similar in Diablo Immortal and visit third party forums like Reddit, as well as videos on YouTube, because there is a lot of good information out there for any style of player or level.
Google “levelling up in Diablo Immortal” is also a decent option.
Thx for your advice, I did that 3 months ago and no success in beating last Hell 1 boss.
I have tried for almost 6 months to join a clan or warband, but no one wants a low lvl.
It’s impossible to improve my stats due to several factors :
daily gems, need 3 others for OW / random dungeons 3/5 per day gives 0/1 per day
events are a disaster too, can only do the easy ones, like Survivor Bane and doesn’t give good rewards.
Helliquary can only do normal in Hell 1 bosses have millions of HP.
BG is the only thing I can do, I win and lose…but it is a bit boring, because I have to wait for 15mins to start a battle and I can’t do anything during waiting period or the counter might disappear and then I have to re-start the counter.
300 daily plat I can buy a handful of normal gems or save up for 2 weeks to buy leg gem.
Anyway enough of venting, I hoped that this last update would be helpful, but no…it was only for inferno players.
It’s time to quit the game, I will keep an eye on the next few patchnotes to see if the coming changes will allow me to break this curse called “Hell 1”.
Thank you to all that replied to my post and taking the time to share advices + tips.
Wish you all the best of luck and have fun.
Get your paragon up to server level. The quality of the drops and thus your strength is based on your paragon level. That gives you more CR which is the main defining factor of your overall strength.
Spam Abyssal Verges to farm materials for gear rank upgrades and to max out your weekly regular gems. You should be able to farm the weekly 63 bound and unbound gems in no time.
Do Terror Rifts to farm Terror Essence and spend 10 Essence each week for the guaranteed high quality legendary.
Avoiding Mondays / Thursdays (as they are raid reset days) just shout out in World Chat and ask if someone would help you to kill the last boss of Hell 1. For a high level player, that boss is so trivial that you’ll have someone volunteer to help, take you to the boss, kill it, and unlock Hell 2 for you in less time than it took to type out this reply.
Unlocking Hell 2 gives you access to secondary weapon slots which means you can instantly get a lot more Combat Rating due to being able to equip two more legendaries.
The short answer here is if you aren’t a spender you can’t expect to unlock stuff solo. Join a group or ask in chat for an unlock. You should have been stuck at the Hell 1 boss for like 6 min, not 6 months. Once you are at server paragon there are a ton more groups and clans recruiting for everything.
If you play the game right this is false. The only reason a player would need to be carried is if they did not allow their combat rating to match their progression. Which has nothing to do with $$
But the CR depends mostly on gear, that won’t get higher than a certain value in a given difficulty level. Also on the gear ranks, that require lots and lots of hours of farming to be raised. So, for a F2P player doing everything by themselves, it would take months to even reach Inferno 1 difficulty.
There’s the already mentioned option of being carried at least to defeat the “last boss of difficulty X”, unlock the next difficulty level and the chance to get better or even new slots for gear, increasing the character’s CR.
But I find it hard to believe that anyone could reach Inferno 5 being a F2P player without ever being “carried”. Unless they have been playing for almost 3 years and spending lots of hours in the game every day. Of course, this is just my opinion.
Gear ranks are a grind for everyone no matter how much you put into the game. Most times when people are below cr that is where they are lacking because it’s the most boring aspect of the game.
To give a longer answer, yes, if you have played from the beginning, you can do all the content yourself for sure. I’ve got a f2p alt I have done the same.
BUT we are talking about a new player still in Hell 1. There is no reason for him to sit there for months getting gear levels and grinding better legos that would be replaced inside a week if he simply leveled up first. He’s best off getting carried through some unlocks into Inferno, level to paragon, THEN gear grinding.
edit - Second comment: There is also a difference between being f2p and being strong enough to assist with content and doing content solo. Again, yes, a f2p can totally have the stats and cr to pull their own weight in a 8man Helliquary raid. But it’s a much much higher bar to be able to SOLO kill the final boss to unlock the next level. That is a raid intended to be done as a group. It sounds like the OP is trying to solo the Hell 2 unlock.
I started at the beginning but left after a few months. I returned after almost 2 year break and have been since able to climb myself to current Inf5 basically without any help and without spending a penny. No matter when one starts, a F2P player can still unlock everything without help.
Note: I’m still upgrading my gear ranks (legendaries are rank 28) and Helliquary (level 62), so I still have some catching up to do. But everything is still perfectly foable.
Again, sure, it’s doable, but is it worth doing? The OP is frustrated he can’t solo get out of Hell 1. The simple solution is take 30seconds to get a carry into Hell 2 and resume leveling up to catch up to everyone else.
Grinding to be able to solo the Hell 1 final boss might be a challenge someone wants to do, but most don’t. There is no real point in grinding until up at server paragon and you can’t get to that until you’ve past Hell 1.
Which has been suggested already. There are always some people willing to help.
However, I was correcting your false statement. You explicitly claimed that one can’t unlock stuff solo without being a spender. Anyone, absolutely anyone, even a completely fresh player who just started can unlock any content solo, with reasonable effort and zero spending.
Most can’t though. There are a LOT of players in I5 who cannot solo I4 Vogmarik. And even the ones who can had to get I5 gear in order to be able to do it. It is really hard to solo unlock to move up instead of doing a group unlock.
