Hello, Diablo Immortal Team,

I would like to report a recurring issue with the Battlegrounds matchmaking system that has significantly impacted the gameplay experience for myself and other players.

Currently, the system feels unbalanced, with matches often pitting players with wildly disparate resonances against each other. It is common to face opponents with more than double (or even multiple) the resonance, making the match unfair and nearly impossible to compete on equal terms.

This discrepancy creates a frustrating experience, especially for players who invest time and effort to progress, but are unable to compete on equal terms due to inefficient matchmaking. This ends up discouraging participation in battles and directly impacts engagement in PvP.

I suggest that the team reevaluate the matchmaking system, implementing criteria that consider the total resonance of the players or an overall average of the team, ensuring more balanced and fair matches.

Thank you for your attention and for continuing to work on the development of the game. Diablo Immortal has enormous potential, and I believe that improvements in this area will benefit the entire community.

Olá, equipe Diablo Immortal,

Gostaria de relatar um problema recorrente no sistema de pareamento do Campo de Batalha que tem afetado significativamente a experiência de jogo para mim e outros jogadores.

Atualmente, o sistema parece desbalanceado, com partidas frequentemente colocando jogadores com ressonâncias extremamente discrepantes uns contra os outros. É comum enfrentar adversários com mais do que o dobro (ou até múltiplos) da ressonância, tornando a partida injusta e praticamente impossível de competir em igualdade.

Essa diferença cria uma experiência frustrante, especialmente para jogadores que investem tempo e esforço para progredir, mas que não conseguem competir em pé de igualdade por conta de um pareamento ineficiente. Isso acaba desmotivando a participação nas batalhas e impacta diretamente o engajamento no PvP.

Sugiro que a equipe reavalie o sistema de pareamento, implementando critérios que considerem a ressonância total dos jogadores ou uma média geral da equipe, garantindo partidas mais equilibradas e justas.

Agradeço pela atenção e por continuarem trabalhando no desenvolvimento do jogo. Diablo Immortal tem um enorme potencial, e acredito que melhorias nesse ponto vão beneficiar toda a comunidade.

I’m sorry to say but the imbalance exists for a reason. To feed weak players to the whales so that the latter keep spending.

Many have voiced similar concerns as you but it’s very unlikely that Blizzard will change anything as it could compromise their revenue from this game.

Free-to-play and low-to-mid spenders are fed to the whales. This happens because the whales need to feel like they’ve gotten their money’s worth by bashing up lower powered players. Lower powered players are intended to feel frustrated with being bashed up, in the hope that they too spend money to become a whale.

Asking Blizzard to change this is futile. It’s Diablo Immortal’s fundamental monetisation model. If whales were exclusively matched against whales, what then would be the point of spending all that money, just to play against people that you couldn’t stomp as if you were a god and they were a beetle?
