Build copy feature _1 Day 1 Suggestion (86) 1일 1건의사항

Anyone who is interested to some extent in the game wants to know what build other people use and wants to follow them.
Builds these days have become very complicated. essence, set item, gem, reforge, rune, cursed effect, paragon skill, familiar, etc.
The most important of these is legendary essence.
When a new essence comes out every two months, people are interested in the latest trendy essence composition.
I suggest a feature that makes it more convenient to follow other people’s builds.
The feature where… When looking at other people’s character information, there is a build copy feature, so if we click that button, we can save that person’s essence composition to our armory.
It would be nice to be able to copy information on other components besides essence composition, but things would be complicated because there are many things that we don’t possess what other person possesses.
Of course, depending on the dev.'s will, they can make a more convenient and sophisticated feature that allows us to copy all build components. (Considering exceptions and unexpected circumstances)
This feature will be very helpful also for beginners to settle into the game.

I wholeheartedly disagree on this. It will just make everyone a copycat. There is already a conundrum of players asking on world chat for builds about their characters, when they may not have yet tried putting in pieces of whatever gear is available to them.

There is already 4 preset builds provided that new and old players can work on and use. YOUR SUGGESTION WILL MAKE PLAYERS LAZY, less creative and less of a thinker, and only focus on copying builds that other players spend time on creating for themselves. Copying builds is no less than intellectual stealing in real life. Who would want their builds to be “autosaved” by another player, when they have spent time and effort to mix gears, gems, etc. to create a competitive character?

For this matter, IT IS BEST THAT BUILDS, SKILLS, GEARS, AND GEMS BE HIDDEN. Let players grind and learn which essences would work for them. If these new players become clan members, they can always ask for tips and advice from their clanmates.

You’re talking about something very idealistic. Even if there is no build copy feature, people are already copying builds. My suggestion means to make what they are already doing a little easier.
Thoughtless and lazy people are meaninglessly copying other people’s builds,
and people who are interested in researching builds are interested in other people’s builds. They sometimes copy other people’s builds and then modify them to make them better.
When a build becomes OP, that build is in vogue. How does this happen if people don’t copy other people’s build? What you don’t want is already happening.
And game is just game. What does it matter if people are lazy and lack creativity? Are we work in the company that requires self-development?
I don’t understand why the concept of intellectual stealing comes up. Game is just game.
You have a closed mind. You are grudging that other people can easily use your build. Many people share their researched builds by uploading them to YouTube or communities.
Imitation is the mother of creation. In the process of copying a build, a better modified build can come up.
Your argument is like saying, ‘It’s not right to easily acquire past knowledge in school. We should follow the same process that scientists in the past experienced to acquire that knowledge.’, ‘Cars are not right. They reduce human physical functions.’

I’m not being idealistic here. It is actually easy for the developers to do so by removing the buttons that show the profile of players to other players. Or maybe limit the viewing to clan officers and leader.

We all know that the copying builds is rampant now. And your suggestion technically supports it. At the very least, in the current situation, copycats will take effort in taking notes rather that just simply “autosave” builds they fancy.

There’s already preset builds available per class and there’s description per gear. You don’t necessarily need to copy builds from others. You just need to use your mind to harmonize which works together.

Even though DI, or any similar game for that matter, is a game, people have different reasons for playing. Though laziness and lack of creativity may not matter to you, other players spend time and effort to build their characters, and with real money for some. Thus, NOT ALL players will be comfortable with your suggestion. You just want to be strong right away, and not caring about the efforts made by others in improving their characters.

I just related how your suggestion reflects intellectual stealing in real life. It leaves a bad taste. And in case you don’t know, the allusion of acquiring knowledge in school is the same as how I suggested to ask your clanmates for tips or advice on your build.

Other players can use my build, but at least they should have the decency to do the hard work of copying by note taking rather than with a simple copy button. And mind you, there are players who even show off that they copied the build. If the game isn’t competitive and you are not part of competitive clans, then it won’t really matter. But since we do, you wouldn’t want to see the build you have created to be shown off to you by someone who just copied it, would you?

Most, if not all, of these people are partner players of Blizz and Netease. They get benefits for doing so, either from the partner or from YouTube monetization. And since you said there are these people already, there’s no point for your suggestion to go through anymore.

So, I maintain that BUILDS, SKILLS, GEARS, AND GEMS BE HIDDEN from prying eyes of copycats. Players in need of builds can work on the preset provided by DI or view those shared by content creators. If they are not satisfied with it, then let them work on their “self-development”.

Your reply on my comments only made your suggestion worse.

If the end result is that they copy your build, what difference does it make if they take notes or press a button to do so? Heck, they could just inspect your hero, take a screenshot, then head to the essence NPC and change items until they match the ones in the screenshot. Some folks love fiddling about, experimenting, testing, and tweaking a build. Others aren’t interested in that and just want a build that works. If they can’t see other players’ builds in-game, they’ll just watch a video on YouTube, or they’ll ask for advice on their clan’s Discord, etc.

The suggestion is just about making this easier. Not implementing it isn’t going to stop people copying builds, it’s just going to remain taking longer.

The reason I said you’re idealistic is because you deny build copying even though it is rampant. because you think people should be not lazy, creative, and a thinker when playing games.

There are many people in the game.
While there are people like us who are passionate about the game, there are people who are busy with real life, and people who play the game lightly.
For people who are passionate about the game the feature I suggested is convenient becaues they research builds passionately, and for people who play lightly it’s convenient because they play lightly.

China has been implemented the feature you mentioned since the October 30 update. People who don’t want their information to be shown to others in Battlegrounds and Tower War can turn the disclosure off.
Maybe they’ll test it in China and apply it to us later.
There seems to be many people like you who hate exposing their information.

In conclusion, you and I have different values.
Why hide the builds you researched? is it that important?
Good builds are going to spread anyway. Even if you hate copying builds, it happens. You’re stuffy. decency?

You don’t know me. I’m a person who plays the game harder than anyone else. And I usually research builds on my own. I am also interested in other people’s builds. I did not suggest this feature simply for myself to follow other people’s builds everytime. I suggested it because I saw many cases where people, including myself, are interested in other people’s builds. For people like me, it is a convenient feature to test, compare, and improve other people’s builds.

I meant that a build is in vogue through people’s copy. I think the meaning was conveyed to you wrongly.

What I said was a metaphor that criticizes you for insisting on the difficult behavior among the difficult and easy behaviors that produce the same results. This kind of your counterargument is just captious.

The build uploaders I mentioned are not just famous YouTubers. I am mainly talking about lesser-known YouTubers and individuals who share their researched builds on DI community websites.
I’m Korean, so I mostly watch Korean YouTubers and Korean DI community websites, they are no concern of game company. They don’t have support from game company.

Do not use the presets provided by DI as basis of an argument. The presets are not very helpful.

You are ‘closed’ and I am ‘open’. You are ‘subtract, divide’ and I am ‘add, multiply’. There are the people who think like you and the people who think like me in the game, but I can’t say confidently which one is more numerous. I think you are old-fashioned and conservative.
